M’rashtra inks JV for urban infra projects

    The state government in Maharashtra has recently signed an agreement with Canada to implement a joint action plan on urban infrastructure development across the state. The joint venture seeks to introduce solutions and financing from the country for urban development and implementation of state-led infrastructure projects. The agreement envisages supporting Indo-Canadian partnerships, including private sector companies, universities, and colleges to speed-up project implementation, promote economic development and contribute to rising standards of living in the state, Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis said, adding that the state is implementing a joint action plan and target areas for collaboration including affordable housing, urban infrastructure including smart cities, project financing, training, and skills development. The plan also included allowing world-class, innovative Canadian companies to find new partners and projects, Canadian Minister of Economic Development, Navdeep Bains, who is currently visiting India, said.
