For the reconstruction of the damaged infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir, the Union Government has cleared a staggering sum of Rs. 1,093-cr under the PM's special reconstruction plan for the state. The targeted funds will be used for repairing of damaged public buildings like schools, colleges, hospitals, bus stations and other critical public infrastructure in the state and a sum of Rs. 2,000-cr has already been provided under the plan. Apart from this, the central authorities have also given their approval recently for a one-time relaxation of the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) cost norms for restoration of damaged horticulture infra in certain areas and development of horticulture in the state. It may be recalled that the PM had announced the Rs. 80,068-cr plans in November 2015 for post-flood relief and restoration and for the long-term rehabilitation and development of the state.
