In view of the emerging future business avenues in the country’s healthcare segment, Prathima Hospitals, which now has a chain of three hospitals with bed strength of 1,500, has decided to invest Rs. 350-cr on its on-going expansion drive. With three hospitals in Telangana, where the company invested about Rs. 200cr, including two in Hyderabad, one of which was acquired, is looking at setting up a chain of hospitals in various district headquarters in the State. This will be a combination of acquisition-led growth and its own hospitals, Managing Director of Prathima Hospitals, Harini Boinipally said, and added that the player is planning to set-up hospitals in every district headquarters in the State. The idea is to ensure people get best healthcare within their district without having to travel to Hyderabad. Typically, each hospital will have about 50-100 beds initially and the strength is likely to be ramped up subsequently.
