Chhattisgarh unveils Rs. 19,326-cr road projects

    In the recently held review meeting on progress of construction of roads being undertaken by Public Works Department (PWD), in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister, Dr Raman Singh, directed the officials to expedite the construction works of 388 roads entailing a whopping investment of Rs. 19,326cr. For the projects, which are targeted to be completed by March 2018, the CM directed the officials of the local administration to ensure that the process of land acquisition, removal of encroachment, forest clearances, wherever necessary, and the task should be completed within September 30, so that the construction works start from October onwards. The CM also reviewed the progress of four and six lane widening work of 48.58 km Raipur-Simga section being undertaken at a cost of Rs. 513cr; four lane widening work on 42.446 km Simga-Sargaon section undertaken at a cost of Rs. 385cr; four and six lane widening work on 35.499 km Sargaon-Bilaspur section being built at a cost of Rs. 368-cr on Raipur-Bilaspur highway. He also reviewed the progress of four lane widening work of 40 km Raipur-Kodebod section entailing an investment of Rs. 456cr; four lane widening work on 39 km Kodebod-Dhamtari section undertaken at a cost of Rs. 451cr, claimed official sources.
