    Telangana gets Rs. 1300-cr WB’s infra booster

    In an attempt to ensure safety and security of road users, the World Bank has in principle agreed to fund upto Rs.1300 crore for major road safety measures for roads across the state. The bank is currently funding the Hyderabad-Bijapur road project which packs trauma-care facilities, ambulances, patrolling vehicles, police outposts, and cranes. All this is in addition to other facilities which will be provided every 50 km. The Hyderabad- Bijapur road safety project is expected to finish by the middle of next year. Junction improvements are also in progress. The new block in Tandur Hospital on the Hyderabad-Bijapur corridor is being upgraded with trauma-care facilities and ambulances with emergency equipment are being procured as part of the World Bank funded project, said official sources.
