Making the most out of the emerging and future business avenues in the Indian smart city projects, UK has expressed its willingness to actively participate in Prime Minister's ambitious project to build world class smart cities across the country. In this connection, International Development Secretary, UK, Priti Patel, recently visited India and held talks with Urban Development Minister, Venkaiah Naidu, and announced that UK will share its skills and expertise to drive forward India's vision for new smart cities and boost opportunities for new businesses. UK is keen to help India in meeting the challenges of urabanisation, getting India ready for the bigger picture, the preparedness and responses are absolutely crucial, so bringing expertise is one aspect to that, she added. Apart from this, she also stressed that the UK and India share unique relationship and moreover the recent referendum in the UK has now redefined the relationship and elevated it in terms of her country’s place in the world.
