    TM clears Rs 2,272-crore highway project

    Fast tracking the road network building process across the country, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a recent move has approved the widening of Hubli-Hospet Section of National Highway 63 into four lane in the state of Karnataka, said transport ministry sources, claiming that the stretch in question commands a length of 144 km and entailed a staggering investment worth Rs. 2,272.20cr, including cost of land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation and other pre-construction activities. The total length of the road is to be developed under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase IV on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis.
