West Bengal plans Rs. 268-cr road upgrade

    In an attempt to inject complete facelift to the road network in the state, the state government in West Bengal has recently approved a whopping investment worth Rs. 168.24cr. The sanctioned funds will also cover five road-upgrade projects, entailing an investment worth Rs. 86.24-cr and another 41km Sonua-Panua-Gudri road in West Singhbhum district and investment of Rs. 31-cr and covering a length of 15.95km road development in East Singhbhum. In addition, the cabinet also approved Rs. 184-cr for upgrading 37km Pithoria-Thakurgaon- Budmu-Khelari road and that development projects of Rs. 35-cr and Rs. 26-cr were approved for roads in the Jamtara and Pakur area respectively. In the funds approval process, Deoghar and Basukinath municipal corporations got worth Rs. 5.49-cr to facelift ahead of the month-long Shravani mela as both the places are visited by large number of devotees during the religious event for which the municipal corporations make elaborated arrangement.
