    Uttarakhand Metro Project
The state government in the hilly state of Uttrakhand has recently decided to build Dehradun-Rishikesh-Haridwar metro line to ease ever increasing traffic pressure on the roads of these cities, Chief Minister, Harish Rawat said, while stressing on the need to develop alternative modes of transport in these three cities. On this score, the state government has directed Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority and Uttrakhand Housing & Urban Development Authority to conduct a survey of the proposed Dehradun-Rishikesh-Haridwar metro project. He further added that the project is a top priority of his government and that the moment the survey work is over, the departments concerned would co-ordinate with each other to prepare DPR in consultation with the National Highway Authority of India to start the work on the mega metro project as quickly as possible.
