Railway rolls out 270-km rail project plan

    In order to make the most out of the mineral enriched region, the Indian Railways is contemplating to build 270km new railway link in Chhattisgarh in cooperation with the Union Government in the near future. The proposed railway line will directly link Dongargarh, Khairagarh, Kawardha, Mungeli, Kota and Katgora to Bilaspur district, CM, Raman Singh, said in a recent statement, explaining that the plan has been stamped in the recently held empowered committee meet, where the officials also deliberated on the coal block issue and rail corridor. In the meeting, Union Energy minister, Piyush Goyal, Chhattisgarh Power Company Chairperson, Shivraj Singh, and chief secretary, Vivek Dhand, were also present, he added.
