J&K gets Rs 1,060-cr for power infra

    In order to provide uninterrupted power across the state, the Central government has recently cleared Rs. 1,060-cr under two centrally sponsored schemes to upgrade power infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, Minister of State for Finance and Planning Ajay Nanda, said adding that the Centre has sanctioned Rs. 444.50-cr and Rs. 616.11-cr under Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana respectively for upgrading of power infrastructure in the state. Under the IPDS scheme, Rs 202.27-cr would be utilized for power infra in Jammu region, while Rs. 222.22-cr would be invested in the Kashmir region and Rs. 20.01-cr in the Ladakh region, he added.
