Govt plans Rs. 1 lakh-cr roads in UP

    Central government has decided to build world class road network across Uttar Pradesh at a whopping investment worth Rs. 1 lakh-cr, Union minister, Nitin Gadkari said, elaborating that in regard to the construction of four-lane-NH 29, connecting Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Mau, and Ghazipur route, the initial work related to the project is complete and the construction will start in the next fortnight. The DPR for 218 km Ram Janki Marg from Ayodhya to Janakpur via Kalwari and Gola is ready and it will also cover a bypass road from Kalesar to Jungle Kaudia. In addition, his ministry is also investing Rs. 275-cr on 1,620 km waterway project in Ganga, starting from Varanasi to Haldia and the entire project will be completed in the next 26 months.
