Road project worth Rs. 205-cr up for grab

    Traffic Improvement in Ghatkopar
    The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has floated tenders to depute project management consultants for the proposed Traffic Improvement Scheme at Chheda Nagar junction in Ghatkopar (East) for the construction of two flyovers and an elevated road at a cost of Rs. 205cr. The civic body plans to construct a 680-metre-long, three-lane flyover from Sion to Thane that would run parallel to the existing three-lane flyover at an estimated cost of Rs. 57.66-cr and another 1,240-metre-long, two-lane flyover costing Rs. 94.39-cr has also been planned above the existing Chheda Nagar flyover and will carry traffic coming from Navi Mumbai towards Thane. The elevated road will be 650 metres in length with two lanes and will connect the existing Chheda Nagar flyover with the Amar Mahal Junction flyover at an investment of Rs. 52.28cr.
