Center clears Rs. 43,922-cr for housing sector

    The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation has sanctioned Rs 43,922-cr including Central Assistance of Rs. 10,050-cr to 18 states to build 6, 83,724 housing units and work on the creation of the targeted housing stock which is currently in full swing, said ministry sources, adding that Rs. 190-cr has been given to Chhattisgarh for the construction of 12,670 houses in the state. Notably, the Chhattisgarh House Board (CGHB) has commenced construction of LIG and EWS houses in large numbers under 'Mukhyamantri Jan Awas Yojana' in Naya Raipur. Adding yet another feather to its cap, CGHB recently bagged the National Award for modern Innovation technology, which was received by Housing Board Chairman, Bhupender Singh Sawanni and Managing Director, Siddharth Komal Pardeshi, presented by the Union Urban Development Minister, Venkaiah Naidu. The Board had built about 85,000 houses till date and targeted to provide Housing for all by 2022.
