MSRDC floats bids for highway project

    Pune Mumbai Highway
In its quest to ensure smooth flow of vehicular traffic on the 6.3km Pune-Mumbai highway, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has invited bids for the widening of Dehu Road Cantonment Board stretch. The work has failed to start in the last 10 years for various reasons but now the MSRDC is determined to build the project whereby the highway stretch from Nigdi to Hotel Central Chowk in Dehu Road has only two lanes leading to frequent traffic snarls, said executive engineer, Sanjay Gangurde, adding that as per the fresh bidding process, the highway will be widened to four lanes from Nigdi to Dehu Phata and also from Gurudwara to Hotel Central Chowk. There will be two 7.5m-wide tarred road on both sides of the central road divider, including side shoulders, he added.
