DoNER fixes Rs. 33,000cr investment for NE

    In order to bring the region at par with other parts of the country, the Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Ministry has set aside an astounding investment targets worth Rs. 33,000-cr for the development of the north-eastern states in the current fiscal, secretary Naveen Verma, said in a recent statement, adding that imparting skill training to the youth of the area is the top most priority of the ministry as it has already made an allocation worth Rs. 170-cr on this score. The ministry is also opening a new scheme under the banner of 'Venture Fund' and 'Start up Centre' under North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Limited for those youth who have innovative business ideas. He has recently visited certain areas including Tripura to know about the development of the ongoing projects under the DoNER Ministry in the state. Apart from this, the ministry is also stressing to build world class infrastructure facilities especially in the road and rail sector across the region.
