Haryana clears multiple infra projects

    Close on the heels of clearing Rs. 1000-cr for resolving the perpetual traffic snarls on the Delhi Gurgaon e-way, the Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has also approved various other infra projects for the NCR area. Apart from extending the metro line from HUDA City Centre to Manesar or Sohna on which work is already in full swing, the state government has also accorded Gurgaon-Dwarka Expressway a National Highway status and the Nelson Mandela road in Delhi is being connected to Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road to increase connectivity between Delhi and Gurgaon, the CM said adding that earlier Haryana had only four National Highways, but his government had got 12 new National Highways approved in the State and that a Smart City spread over more than 1,000 acres is being developed in Gurgaon. He added that the Manesar-Palwal stretch of the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway had been inaugurated and the remaining 83 km would be completed in a year's time. The Chief Minister also announced modernisation of the Gurgaon railway station on the lines of Nizamuddin terminal in Delhi, a bus stand spread over 83 acres, expansion of the Chandu Budhera water treatment plant, and multi-level parking facilities including the construction of a community centres in Sector 4 and 53 have also been announced.
