CIDCO speeds up Rs. 16,000cr airport project

    CIDCO Airport Project
The airport bidding for the Navi Mumbai International Airport project entailing an investment worth Rs. 16,000-cr has entered the final phase with the high level PMIC headed by chief secretary giving nod to three companies to bid for NMIA. The three companies, which entitled the technical competence (RFQ), cleared the final hurdle of union ministry's security clearance earlier in January this year.

The project management implementation committee approved the other three for making the financial bid/request for proposal (RFP) that were also cleared by the CIDCO expert committee and that the final nod will be given by the Cabinet very shortly. The three companies in the race for financial bid include Mumbai international airport limited (MIAL) that has developed the airport in the city, GMR airport Delhi and consortium of MIA infrastructure with Tata Realty and infrastructure. MIAL has the right of refusal, which mean that it can walk away with the project if it is the highest financial bidder or even if the second highest, but meets 10% of the top bidder then it will avail the opportunity to match the bid of the topmost bidder.
