Torsa Machines: Smart Series of Crushers & screens

Torsa Machines
Torsa Machines, Gopi Krishna More - Managing Director

As we move into the 25th Silver year of our operations, we are proud to announce our manufacturing and services at both Kolkata and Guwahati, which are catering to demand across India, including the far reaches of North-East India.

Torsa is manufacturing products based on innovative new designs, and introducing new technology in its crushing and screening plants. An expert in the mineral processing industry, it is making continuous improvements in its products in order to maintain the highest standards of quality and the best technologies. With its new facility in Kolkata, it is well positioned to deliver 200, 250, and 300 tph plants to cater to the mid-segment of users.

Optimizing production and reducing carbon emissions

At Torsa, we follow the best manufacturing practices in India and aim to reduce resource consumption by making our equipment more efficient and optimizing production.

We have incorporated high tech features in our crushing equipment to enhance operations. Our machines are known for their robustness, high productivity, and cost-saving benefits. For instance, the Torsa Smart IVX series of crushers are designed to consume less steel and provide real-time performance updates to the operational and management teams.

With a capacity of 150-200 tph, the Smart series crushers have a compact footprint by combining jaw-cone and screen components mounted on a skid-mounted platform. The modular design of the skid-mounted plant allows for easy transportation on a flatbed trailer, occupying approximately 40% less space and requiring minimal civil work during installation.

Incorporating smart features

Torsa’s machines deliver superior performance, require less maintenance, occupy less space during installation, utilize optimal power, and minimize plant breakdowns through intelligent triggers. Their cost-saving advantages ultimately reduce the operating costs of equipment owners, commercial quarry owners, and road contractors, who seek highly robust equipment with a lifecycle of 15 to 20 years.

Our Smart Series of crushers, as the name suggests, are supported by telematics, enabling timely maintenance alerts, and facilitating higher plant availability. The IoT-enabled plant gathers data on various production aspects, such as idle time, operating capacity, load, and running hours. This information helps plant owners optimize production, improve plant uptime, and reduce carbon emissions.

Adopting technologies to bring safety and sustainability in equipment

For Crushing and Screening equipment, the main and the maximum raw material used is different kinds of steel which take decades to biodegrade. The only way to make them sustainable is to make longer lasting equipment with a smaller carbon footprint.

We are also making your products safer and more reliable to build trust among the end-users. In fact, safety is a prime feature in all our plants and equipment, covering all movable parts, with easy access for maintenance and services that make them safer for both operators and mechanics.

Encouraging innovation through incentives from both the construction equipment industry and the government will contribute significantly towards achieving the construction industry’s goal of attaining net-zero emissions by 2070.

Bringing value additions to enhance brand positioning

Our Crushing and Screening Equipment are built to work in harsh conditions and with all kinds of materials. Since they operate mostly in areas that are yet to be built, we ensure that our products have a robust structure. We also ensure that we offer the right quality of products at the right prices. Our timely deliveries, good quality products, and affordable pricing has sustained our brand value for the last 24 years.

To further enhance the productivity, efficiency, and sustainability of our equipment at construction sites, we are optimizing equipment utilization by training and upskilling operators, using alternative fuels to reduce carbon emissions, adopting connected and digital construction practices, and undertaking remanufacturing and refurbishment in line with circular economy principles.

With serviceability of machines being done centrally at our Kolkata facility for repairs that cannot be performed locally at site, we add to customer convenience by offering quick repairs and deliveries.

Torsa’s innovative Spares & Services App

Spares & Services App for Seamless Maintenance and Parts Procurement

Torsa’s services range from support and annual maintenance contracts to operational guidance and consultancy. We prioritize operator training, specifically on automation and digitalization in machines.

Furthermore, Torsa’s innovative Spares & Services App, designed to expedite maintenance, is a one-stop platform, enabling equipment owners to place orders for spare parts and services. By offering visuals of the entire range of spare parts, the app links each customer to their respective Torsa equipment. Users can swiftly request instant quotes for both spare parts and services directly through their smartphones. Moreover, the app ensures that operators and business owners are consistently updated on production and maintenance schedules.

Indian CE Industry primed for further growth

The Indian CE industry has undergone substantial growth over the past two decades, benefiting from economic liberalization and the presence of prominent global brands. This exposure has enabled the industry to adopt leading manufacturing practices worldwide. Yet, there remains ample room for further advancement.

Efforts should focus on optimizing equipment efficiency to minimize resource consumption while maximizing output. Encouraging innovation, incentivized by both the CE Industry and government, will help the industry to achieve its ambitious goal of ranking as the world’s second-largest market by 2030.

India has managed to maintain relatively stable economic indicators compared to many other countries. In this context, the Indian CE Industry appears primed for an upward sales trajectory despite potential global economic challenges. There may be some impediments with decision making and issue of new work orders, but construction, in my opinion should not be impacted very greatly.
