Puzzolana - Abhijeet Pai
All our plants are designed for automation to ensure effective operation and to reduce power consumption & carbon emission.
Puzzolana - Abhijeet Pai, President
We are aligned with India’s goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070 and are approaching the concept of decarbonization by adopting technologies and a zero-waste policy in our manufacturing processes.
Technologies and alternative fuels reduce greenhouse gases
Puzzolana has pioneered the manufacture of India’s first crawler crushing and screening plant with all equipment run by standard electric motors. Diesel generator sets as a standard fitment, results in reduction in fuel consumption and maintenance-free machines as compared to hydraulic drives.
We use only quality engines that meet the latest emission norms to run our machines. To further reduce the emission levels, we have standard electric drives for all the equipment, which receive power from diesel engines; and where grid power is available, a changeover switch can be used to shift to grid power and save the running cost and reduce pollution. The maintenance of electric motor drives is simple and can be done by any electrician on the site. This innovation has been highly appreciated by our customers.
We have used the finite element analysis and STAAD PRO that has helped in optimising the weight to strength ratio and improvised performance, thereby reducing power consumption. Automation of our plants’ operations ensures that crushers and screens are operated at optimum efficiency, ensuring low cost /ton of production. All our equipment is modified/improvised so that it can be driven by alternate fuels or electric power.
Potential of connected machines
We believe that connected machines in the construction industry have the potential to enhance productivity and efficiency while reducing carbon emissions. We ensure that all the emission norms are followed, and we use alternate power sources like solar and wind. In fact, we have optimised the design and operational efficiency of all our equipment and systems. Our crushers and screens are sealed and do not release dust while crushing. For dust suppression, all the conveyors have hoods and a dry fog system (high-pressure water and air mist for collection of dust) at the feeding and discharge points. In fact, we are following the guidelines of ICEMA and other government agencies to reduce our carbon footprint.
