Please tell us about the company’s rotary gear pumps.
The company makes rotary gear pumps for asphalt batch mix plants of 500-800-1500-2100 LPM at its facility in Ahmedabad. The products are for OEMs and for aftermarket sales, which constitutes 10 percent of our business, while 40 percent of the business is from export markets. The company manufactures close to 2000 units per month.
We also make rotary twin gear pumps, rotary gear pumps, fuel injection internal gear pumps, and bitumen jacketed gear pumps under the brand RotoFluid. The pumps are manufactured in-house as per the European, EN 353 standards at our plant in Ahmadabad.

We have recently delivered one unit of our 4500 litre per minute (LPM) rotary gear pump for an asphalt batch mix plant owner in the Middle East. The new rotary gear pump has been one of our major achievements, which has reinforced our confidence to design and deliver customized engineered solutions for asphalt batch mix plant owners looking for high productivity and plant availability.
Usually, for bitumen transfer in asphalt batch mix plants, pumps manufactured by us have been between 830-1000 LPM, which are in demand. So, the new 4500 LPM is altogether a new product from our stable.
The 4500 LPM bitumen transfer pump is the biggest capacity range of bitumen transfer pump being made by the company. The pump will transfer bitumen at 275 cum/hr for the asphalt batch mix plant. The highly specialized pump is being custom designed and engineered expertly, and undergoes stringent oil precision tests at our in-house testing facility.
What other innovations has the company made in its pumps?
Since it is important for asphalt batch mix plants manufacturers to have the right flow of oil, we provide our rotary gear pumps with a jacketed option. And to ensure performance reliability with our pumps, we are using advanced materials and manufacturing processes.
To ensure accuracy in flow rate and plant efficiency, we are installing an automatic test bench to test noise, flow rate, power consumption, and pressure. These tests are vital for the high performance of the gear pumps and for the assured availability of the asphalt batch mix plants.
Fluid Tech will be promoting its higher capacity rotary gear pumps to the Indian asphalt batch mix OEMs and the aftermarket for retrofitting solutions. It is also eyeing the export markets. Fluid Techs’ prominent asphalt batch mix OEM customers include Ammann, Marini, Vibrant, Atlas, Nilang and Alltech, among others.
