Abhijit Som, Managing Director
Dynapac’s proven expertise in compaction and paving, backed by its extensive range of products, give customers a strong competitive edge, avers. Abhijit Som, Managing Director

What products will Dynapac display at bauma Conexpo India 2023?
We plan to showcase our complete range of solutions as we want end-users to see that their selection of a product should be based on their project size and application requirements.

We will also unveil our new light compaction products which are robust, ergonomically designed, and proven to be super performers. The range includes Twin Drum Roller, Forward Plate, Rammer, Reversible Plate, and Cutter. These will also help in compaction of confined spaces.

The light compaction range complements our larger compaction and paving equipment in getting jobs done in relatively confined spaces. The range of products can be used to compact any type of material through weight classes and different types of machines.

What are Dynapac’s initiatives for contributing towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly environment?
We are doing electrification of small compaction and paving machines as part of our Z ERA initiative. We have a strong focus on energy optimization by using digital solutions, which can automate certain functions and eliminate errors leading to improved productivity. Since the digital platforms are modular, new features can be added while they are still being developed.

What practices and technologies are being developed or adopted at your end to reduce wastage and to recycle usable materials to reduce carbon emissions?
Abhijit Som, Managing Director
We work on cutting waste in all aspects of our equipment production through Lean Manufacturing and we make continuous improvements in our processes.

There is also substantial reduction of waste during operation if customers use solutions like compaction control; this enables the machine to stop when the required compaction has been done. We also work with recycled asphalt in our sister company Marini, using paving methods that adapt to both hot and cold mix.

What services are you offering to your customers?
We offer a full responsibility contract to our customers to ensure that we can deliver both product uptime and optimized project cost based on our product’s actual usage at the project site. We also provide onsite support through timely delivery of spares to minimize machine downtime.

We are developing additional plug-and-play options on our products which can give operators more efficiencies during production by minimizing errors.

How can India’s CE industry reach world standards?
To be at par with world standards, the CE industry needs to work on continuous development of workforce skills as technologies are evolving at a fast pace. Automation and digitalization can reduce dependence on manpower and optimize productivity.

Also, a good understanding of global markets allows us to understand product quality standards and best manufacturing practices. On a larger level, the Government’s initiatives to create good roads and logistics will help the industry to achieve overall performance and cost efficiencies.

We expect demand in India to remain at a good level, though new HAM projects take time to start their execution, plus, the long rainy season in our country does dampen demand to some extent. We will also need to follow the CEV IV and CEV V regulations in 2024 for which engine manufacturers will have to ramp up their technology.
