Bhupinder Singh, CEO - bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2020
Achieving the right balance of delegates, industry experts and decision makers is key.
For bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2020, we are gearing up for yet another exciting ride. This time our objectives will focus on latest technological trends and innovations, smart infrastructure and showcasing global expertise with international participation. To accomplish this, attracting and engaging with the right set of exhibitors, visitors, industry experts and decision makers is imperative. They play an instrumental role in both adding value through their expertise and clinching mutually beneficial deals that in-turn help the industry progress as a whole.
In the last edition, we marked a 30% growth in exhibitor space; in 2020 we are building targeted segments with an aim to cover the industry and offer a full spectrum; We will focus on components and ancillaries, commercial vehicles, lifting equipment, Automation, AI and IoT solutions; additionally, we have identified segments that need special emphasis, which will be nurtured in the next edition. In 2020, we plan to offer more value to our exhibitors at the demo area by extensive promotions and an enhanced set up, which will also mean a bigger area allocated to this activity. The demo area is important from the perspective of our exhibitors and offers an opportunity to showcase exhibitors equipment live in action. This area offers exhibitors a chance to display their latest developments at the show itself. Products in action and operation draws interested visitors instantly.
Our Buyer-Seller program initiated in the last edition of bauma will now go online.
We undertook this new initiative to host, attract and bring on board untapped buyers to the show. We introduced the Buyer-Seller Program in the last edition, where targeted buyer seller meetings are planned “before” the fair and organized “during” the fair to enhance the ROI (return on investment) for exhibitors and ROTI (return on time invested) for the visitors/ buyers. After the success in the last edition, we will continue this platform giving it a progressive edge by taking it online.
Our collaboration with iCEMA for bauma cluster shows across the globe has grown stronger.
The partnership with iCEMA has been very encouraging and the relationship has matured with each edition. iCEMA in its capacity is the largest association for the construction machinery sector in India. It acts as a strong link between the industry and Government’s decision makers while campaigning for growth and development in the industry. iCEMA helps give shape to the government’s initiatives like skilling in the construction equipment industry through IESC. As two strong partners, we combine our synergies for the benefit of exhibitors and visitors at the trade fair. Together, we can continue to expand and strengthen the trade fair as one of the most important platforms for industry stakeholders as well as for the government in India. Our collaboration with iCEMA is on global level and present at bauma cluster shows and in CONEXPO CON/AGG in Las Vegas organized by American Equipment manufacturers (AEM) show. By the co-operation agreement, the two partners are pursuing the joint objective of promoting topics in the industry through close collaboration and thereby reacting to the needs and demands of the exhibitors and visitors at an early stage.
We have planned extensive road shows, both nationally and internationally in assistance with our international offices and ties from the bauma & AEM network.
These road shows help in creating awareness about our trade events (especially in the international domain), while simultaneously giving us a platform to dialogue and engage with our exhibitors and visitors. The insights we have gathered in the past during these promotional activities has been immensely informative and conducive for the way our show has evolved over the years. We are strengthening our ties with associations like regional/local associations and have participated in the association member meetings to assist in promoting, deciphering and determining the needs to be implemented at the show. Our promotions with industry magazines, online promotions via social media channels, print, email and other mediums are underway as well. Getting the right delegates and visitors is our top priority and we will invest time and budget to accomplish this.
By advancing bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2020 to the month of November we are aligning ourselves strategically to our stakeholders’ needs and it will be a positive move for the CE industry at large.
This change of dates (3 – 6 November 2020) is a result of numerous meetings and feedback received from our exhibitors, partners, international offices and stakeholders. One of the reasons is the proximity to our cluster show bauma China. Our key exhibitors are an integral part of our international shows and there was a short gap between the two shows. The other reason is the holiday timing because of festive seasons, besides, the cold December weather in north India is also a point of consideration. For us in the exhibition business – after a show is before the show, so we began our review, feedback and collating our learnings from the very next day of the last edition. We have been taking small steps that we are certain will make a big difference.
