Please elaborate with technical details.
Looking at the dynamics of the changing construction equipment industry, we came up with BHAI-KYC Twin shaft mixer for our 30 CuM and 60 CuM batching and mixing plant at EXCON'13. For the first time in India, we are manufacturing the twin shaft mixer of 0.5 and 1.25 CuM capacity. The mixer is manufactured in technical collaboration with KYC Machine Industry Co. Ltd., Japan. Currently we are importing the gear box from KYC, Japan and rest of the mixer is manufactured at our Ludhaina works. We are using single motor of 15 KW for 0.5 CuM capacity mixer and 37.5 KW motor for 1.25 CuM capacity mixer. The mixer has a unique whirlflow technology and has low vibration. It mixes large aggregate size giving homogeneous mix without segregation. It provides high strength concrete with short mixing times. Apart from the mixer, we have launched a new 30 CuM compact batching and mixing plant with BHAI_KYC twin shaft mixer. The new plant will redefine the way a compact plant is perceived in construction industry.
What are the company's future plans with respect to marketing, promotion and increasing its market share?
With a true game changer in hand, we plan to promote the new BHAI – KYC twin shaf mixer based batching and mixing plant in every cornor of the country. We have got immence response at EXCON'13. For the first time, a Indian based mixer with Japanese technology was seen by the construction equipment Industry. It was highly appreciated by the industry fraternity. We have initiated a marketing plan to touch the grass root level of the construction industry and promote our new product. More than selling, our target is to create awareness about the right product and technology to our customers. EXCON gave us the foundation we required to promote our new product and now, we are flooded with enquiries from south India for the new mixer. We are also working on the dealership format to stay closer to our customers.
How do you perceive the ongoing slowdown in the Construction Equipment Industry? Don't you feel that this is a time to revamp strategies and refocus on Research and Development? Please elaborate.
Due to global slowdown, the growth of construction industry slowed down which in turn slowed down all the ancillary industry. Few sectors like urban infrastructure and oil & gas have not been affected much and have registered noticable growth. In a sluggish market, ‘Innovation' is the key word. We have been following the construction industry and with a slow market, we started working on cost effective solutions with better technology. With this in mind, we signed a technical collaboration with KYC Machine Industry Co. Ltd., Japan to manufacture the BHAI-KYC twin shaft mixer. KYC is Japan's leading company with more than four decades of experience in developing concrete batching technologies and equipments. Backed by more than three decades of technical association with the globally reputed, German-based BHS-Sonthofen GmbH company,. With this technological transfer, we come up with a series of new batching plants. The new plants with this mixer gives you international standards of quality and design. The best thing is it is manufactured in India and is now affordable for the Indian consumer.
In your opinion, what does 2014 hold for the Construction Equipment Industry?
There is more optimism in the construction industry for 2014 than the present year. This optimism will also reflect in all the ancillary industry. In a global scenario, UAE will be the emerging market for construction industry for 2014. In India, infrastructure growth will be major contributors to the infrastructure industry. Government has approved major projects in roads, railway, infrastructure and commercial buildings. This is the time for construction equipment industry to focus on R&D and come up with better products and also look for growth opportunity abroad.
