ACE - Sorab Agarwal
Converting to electric & low emission technologies and developing machines based on Hydrogen IC Engines or Fuel Cell technology will bring sustainability to the construction equipment industry.

ACE - Sorab Agarwal, Executive Director

Reducing emissions and saving the environment is the way forward and the whole world is adopting these measures at a good pace. Going forward, artificial intelligence will also have a major role in the way machines are built and operated; they will incorporate various aspects of artificial intelligence and the industry will develop and rely on autonomous machines.

Converting to electric to reduce greenhouse gases
We have become the country’s first manufacturer of electric construction equipment with our fully electric mobile crane (F150 ev) which was displayed at Bauma 2023 in Noida. We are confident that this product is going to be a game changer for the crane end-users, owing to its lower operating costs. The technology was developed indigenously by our in-house R&D centre. We feel that, going forward, converting to electric and low emission technologies will bring sustainability to the construction equipment industry.

We are also open to the concept of developing machines based on Hydrogen IC Engines or Fuel Cell technology. As soon as the operating environment with respect to commercially viable hydrogen becomes conducive, we are very hopeful that the shift towards hydrogen technology in India will start in the next 2-3 years. We are also open to the idea of autonomous machines, which however, will depend on their suitability, benefits, and safety aspects.

Connected machines enhance productivity and efficiency
Technology has now taken centre-stage and is not only providing economically viable solutions for manufacturers, operators, and customers, but also environmentally friendly solutions. Use of technology in machinery provides opportunities to improve the design and production of the machines based on service feedback. This can considerably reduce the overall cost of the machines throughout its lifespan along with a reduction in material consumption.

ACE offers the option of Telematics in its machines, which helps machine owners to remotely monitor and supervise the various functional parameters of their machines and remain updated on the health and maintenance requirements, leading to optimum performance.

We are deploying some of the best technologies available worldwide and are constantly upgrading and adapting our machines to Indian jobsite conditions.

A proactive approach to carbon reduction
As part of its endeavour to contribute towards reducing carbon footprint and ensuring sustainability across all operations, ACE has initiated some proactive measures such as use of sewage treatment plant output water for maintenance of greenery in the plant and washing facilities; has installed monitoring system for ETP discharge; and implemented rainwater harvesting. 100% of the hazardous waste is sent to an authorised party. The company has developed ~40 acres of green area in its factory premises. We are also encouraging and supporting our suppliers towards a Green Supply Chain and are directing suppliers not to use banned substances as per the law in component manufacturing.

The company has installed and commissioned PV Solar Power plant of 1795.9 KWP capacities across various roofs and parking space.

Replacement of all lights with LED across all plants and office area to save energy. Paint shop oven of the Company running through diesel has been replaced by PNG connections.
