Manish Arora, Business Head

"Mahindra Construction Equipment is riding the growth tide and has recorded the highest sales with our reach in over 400 districts through 65+ channel partners. We have had the highest numbers not only in India but Nepal as well, and we have also expanded our footprint in over 10 countries."

With infrastructure investments set to go up, equipment sales are estimated to expand at a CAGR of 6.2%.

Investment in infrastructure, utilities, ports, roads & highways are the main growth drivers for the CE industry. Total spend on Infrastructure in the 13th 5-year Plan is estimated at 10% of the GDP, up from 7.6% during the previous Plan. This increased spend on infrastructure will drive growth in construction equipment sales. The trend is already evident as the Indian CE market has been on a strong track and is slated to increase by 50% to around 75,000 units in 2019. With these investments set to go up, demand for construction equipment is expected to rise and equipment sales estimated to expand at a CAGR of 6.2%.

At present, the CE industry is mainly dominated by backhoe loaders (more than 40% of total demand), but a broad-based growth is expected across products, with each segment expected to see growth. However, whilst intentions have been in place, execution would be the key, going forward.

Mahindra RoadMaster G75 has taken the market by storm and captured over 25% market share.

Mahindra RoadMaster G75 has taken the market by storm and captured over 25% market share with its category creating and custom-built products for markets like India. With the success of G75 we have launched another variant G90 in the market recently.

mahindra SX90

Last year, we introduced Mahindra EarthMaster SX90 backhoe loader, the toughest machine in its category, with best-in-class hydraulic forces, durable transmission, and powered by a 90 HP 4915-IA-CEV engine developed by Mahindra. The robust one-piece structure, extended banana boom and longer loader arm give the SX90 an unassailable advantage over its counterparts.

The versatile SX90 has a spacious cabin that allows easy access, and new ergonomically designed cluster for better accessibility. Its backhoe end provides for quick excavation cycle time and higher digging forces, leading to higher productivity. The machine comes with a one-year, unlimited hours warranty, eliminating customer’s anxiety of expensive repairs.

All products in the Mahindra EarthMaster range have undergone rigorous testing in the harshest of terrains and for the toughest of applications.

Our new Motor Grader - Mahindra RoadMaster G90 has all the relevant features using the latest vehicle systems and technologies at competitive prices.

We’re expanding our range of road construction equipment with the launch of the new Motor Grader - Mahindra RoadMaster G90 under the aegis of our Construction Equipment business. Mahindra’s Product Development team has used extensive consumer insight and feedback to design and develop this product so that it can withstand India’s rough terrains and heavy usage. With our in-depth understanding of the needs of road and railway contractors, our aim is to provide them simple, yet optimal solutions with high reliability and low owning and operating costs for higher productivity and profitability.

The G90 is powered by a 91 HP DiTEC engine (developed by Mahindra) and coupled with a 3 m (10 ft) wide blade. It is optimized to deliver zero compromise grading at a fractional 40% cost compared to conventional motor graders, and comes with a one-year, unlimited hours warranty. All this is made possible with Mahindra’s engineering and manufacturing capability at Chakan in Pune, backed by a gruelling testing regime, use of the best components, and simplicity of design.

In fact, G90 has undergone rigorous testing in the harshest of terrains and for the toughest of applications, and has been validated on all performance, safety and reliability parameters. It offers superior quality, operator comfort, and our innovative telematics technology DiGiSENSE, and is backed by Mahindra’s dealer sales and service network across the country

mahindra S90

G90 will certainly augment our product portfolio as it is an optimal solution for constructing medium roads and state highways and for widening national highways. It is also apt for applications such as embankment or earthwork for laying of railway tracks and levelling of large plots for industrial construction and ports.

We are providing the best ROI to our customers through higher fuel efficiency and better productivity with optimal machine utilization.

With our innovative telematics technology DiGiSENSE, our equipment is loaded with advanced technology to track their performance on real-time. We are also carrying out various technological enhancements through improvisations in a few (key) aggregates to enhance fuel efficiency and increase the productivity of our machines, thus helping them deliver an even higher output. With better technology and design enhancements, our equipment will be able to lower lubricant refilling requirement with extended service intervals, thus reducing the overall maintenance cost and improving total cost of ownership. Mahindra Construction Equipment has always strived for providing the best to its customers. It is for the same reason that we came up with the backhoe loaders after 4 years of research and over 20,000 hours of machine testing. This resulted in better technology and design enhancements enabling our equipment to lower lubricant refilling requirement with extended service intervals, thus reducing the overall maintenance cost and improving total cost of ownership.

Moreover, our indigenously developed and proven Mahindra DITEC engine offers best-in-class fuel efficiency which implies saving of 10% in standard evacuation cycle to the customer. We have also been able to identify segments which do not need the standard features of backhoes and offer variants which give value for money to them.

Our Mahindra Construction Equipment’s Rental Services come with a bouquet of offerings.

Mahindra Construction Equipment’s Rental Services’ vertical is an upcoming organized equipment service provider, with offerings that include:
  • Innovative equipment solutions
  • Extensive footprint across India
  • Large variety of fleet across makes & models
  • Managing fleet across business capability
  • High-quality asset management capability
  • In-depth knowledge and expertise in equipment rental and allied business.
We have a focused team for corporate accounts and we are rapidly expanding our dealer network in India and abroad to cater to customer requirements and ensure timely availability of machines and parts supply.
