“We are planning to showcase some new and innovative products at bauma CONEXPO INDIA: these will be quite different from the conventional range of products showcased in the previous shows.”

Demand for AWPs is rising due to safety concerns and project completion deadlines.

Material handling requirement has always been a far bigger market than AWP, but we, at Mtandt, have been focusing more on AWPs from the beginning. We have introduced some innovative Material Handling equipment ranging from specialized telehandlers to mini cranes. Market response to our AWPs has been quite encouraging and demand continues to rise mainly on account of the safety concerns and project completion deadlines.

We have seen robust growth and shall be ending the year with a healthy order backlog.

Though competition in the sector is increasing with several international brands making their presence visible in the country and domestic brands indigenizing their products for cost competitiveness, we at Mtandt, are well prepared for both the scenarios as our range of products include the fully imported AWPs and locally made products.

There is demand for locally made ones from the price sensitive customers and we have a wide range to cater to their needs. For the high-end customers who prefer only EN certified, imported machines, we offer fully imported AWPs from reputed European/American and even Chinese manufacturers.

Mtandt has been proactively educating the industry and the end-users on the hazards of working at heights and the solutions available.

The main reason for the slow growth of the AWP market is that unlike the developed countries, in India, there is no strict enforcement of legislations for working at heights. However, Mtandt has been building awareness about the utility of AWPs in projects and amongst the end-users. Our Training Division offers WAH training for all kinds of applications with two types of training modules: basic and advanced course. We also provide specialized operator training to improve the skills of AWP users so that they can get the best of the machines offered on rent or sale.

Growth of AWPs will be due to rising demand from core sector industries.

AWP will see demand rise with growth in the Power sector which is facing increasing shortage of labor to access the high transmission lines and towers, switchyards and other live stations. Steel and Cement industries also require a lot of work at heights with safety as a major concern. Here too, the AWP can meet their requirements and address issues of safety quite efficiently. Products like boom lifts and scissor lifts will see higher demand as compared to their smaller cousins like personnel lifts and mast lifts.

Our subsidiary company takes care of after-market sales, preventive maintenance, supply of spare part, and other value-added services.

We have a subsidiary company which focuses on already supplied AWPs for encouraging the users to opt for AMCs, both comprehensive and non-comprehensive. This gives a reliable platform for our service team to periodically interact with the end-users, ensuring preventive checks to avoid breakdowns and increase the useful life of the AWP.

The spares are maintained by both us and our customers; and depends on the machine type, its usage, quantity of machines at one location and so on. The consumables are usually a mandatory inventory to be maintained and stocking of other spares are decided mutually, depending on many parameters.
