Future Ready

 Kaushik Cesan

M-T-Patil
M.T. Patil Builders & Contractors has built up a vast fleet of machines, including asphalt batch mix plants of Kaushik Cesan. Managing Director, Ranjit Patil, elaborates on why it has become necessary to have technically advanced machines as the company gears up to take on bigger projects across sectors

How is your company positioned to undertake the large scope of current and upcoming projects in India’s infrastructure sector, especially in road sector?

Infrastructure development is taking place throughout the country, and road connectivity is being established across the country. The government’s focus is also on speeding up the infra development programs. It plans to develop a total of 66,117 km of roads under different programmes and has also decided to invest ₹7 trillion ($107.82 billion) for construction of new roads and highways over the next five years. Through a series of initiatives, it is working on policies to attract significant investor interest.

As the government has targeted to construct 40 kms of road per day from the current 22 km/day, we believe that we can speed up road construction using advanced technology and a skilled workforce. But a thorough research and planning is important to achieve the targets within the timeframes.

We started our company in 1952 for constructing buildings, and later entered the road construction sector. We delivered quality work and completed projects as per the stipulated deadlines with our wide range of equipment, machinery and plants. Now, we have the experience and the equipment to take on any challenging assignment in road construction or any other project.

Kaushik Cesan

Currently, we have 4-5 work orders in hand for some big infra projects, for which we are working under joint ventures. We are also gearing up for Smart City projects.

How future-ready is your company to take on such mega projects?

With the industry becoming more demanding and competitive, contractors should be future ready with the latest technical know-how, equipment and machinery, plus, they must have a skilled workforce and awareness of the modern technologies being adopted by the bigger companies.

The latest technologies are available in the market for completing projects faster using the new, highly productive and reliable machines. At M.T. Patil Builders & Contractors, we are continuously exploring options for executing projects, while maintaining the quality parameters and completion timelines. Today, we have a skilled workforce and a vast range of machines that include Stone Crusher Plants, Wet Mix Macadams, Ready Mix Concrete Plants, Road Roller Machines, Asphalt Drum Mix Plants, Excavators, Motor Graders, Forklift Trucks, Backhoe Loaders, Compactor Dozers, Paver Machines, Concrete Vibrators, VSI Plants, Dozers, Trucks, Tippers, Dumpers, Water Tankers, Tractors With Trolley, Transit Mixers, Trucks, Campers (Utility Vehicles), and Boleros (Utility Vehicles).

Is M.T. Patil Builders & Contractors using RAP, warm-mix, cold-mix, etc., to conserve the natural resources and control pollution?

Yes, we’re using Kaushik’s RAP- enabled plants which are helping in saving our fast depleting natural resources and also controlling the pollution. Our plants have the ability to utilize recycled asphalt (RAP) in place of fresh aggregate, which is a big cost saver. The plants can maintain high mix quality while repurposing the RAP, and thus, provide excellent asphalt mix. The plants can take 15-20% of RAP materials.

M.T Patil has a big fleet of Kaushik Cesan’s Road Construction equipment to which it has recently added yet another Kaushik Asphalt Batch Mix plant. Why are Kaushik products your first choice?

We have had a very good experience working with Kaushik machines and the experts in the company. For instance, the Batch Mix Plant of Kaushik enables us to prepare excellent quality asphalt mixture. The machine being fully automatic, optimizes time, workforce and performance for completing projects on time. Features include a European standard burner and bag house, which are completely synchronized. This minimizes energy wastage and makes them operator-friendly. The specially designed burners make the plant more fuel-efficient by at least 4.5 liters/ton.

The factory-fitted modular plant enables easy erection, dismantling, and transportation. It can be set up within 2-3 days. Moreover, the plants work safely at sites as they have stringent production checks.

In fact, all our equipment purchased from Kaushik are high performing and working in good condition. They deliver higher productivity, ensure minimal downtime, and the company provides efficient and prompt service and maintenance.
