Controls Presents Automax 5 and Other Testing Equipment

Controls, one of the world’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of Testing Equipment for the construction industry, presents Automax 5, an automatic compression testers for concrete and cement cubes or blocks, conforming to EN12390-4, representing the more sophisticated and advanced evolution of the usual compression testers.

The Automax 5 features the complete automatic test cycle with closed loop digital feedback.

Automax 5 is supplied under class 1 machine starting from the 10% of the full scale or from 1% as option. For the load rate control, the system applies automatically the correct load rate conforming to the information introduced by the control. The load rate value is continuously monitored and can be printed in the test report when connected to PC or parallel printer to certify the correct load rate application.

The machine can be upgraded for Block Testing Option, also for Second Frame Option, to connect another frame (e.g., flexural frame or cement compression frame) and Door Locking Switch to prevent the test execution with the door open.

From the safety point of view the Automax 5 series machines are fitted with max. pressure valve to avoid machine overloading and with Ram travel switch, which prevents the excessive piston travel.

Control’s other presentation is Ultrasonic/Rebound number combined testers. It has two versions, heavy duty model including electronic rebound unit and other is standard version with manual input of rebound hammer results.

This machine is used to estimate homogeneity, structural integrity and surface strength of a concrete structure. The measuring unit houses an integral data logger for data acquisition and processing with memory for up to 1200 readings.

The model 58-E0049/B combined tester is a compact apparatus including UPV meter and electronic rebound hammer. This provides significant practical and economic benefit by offering one system for both ultrasonic and rebound testing.

The 58-E0049/A version provides a lower cost alternative, which gives the same results measured using a standard concrete hammer 58-C0181/N. The pulse velocity can be combined with the rebound hammer value for the strength evaluation based on the mathematical equation of the test report CUR 69 published by the Research Institute of the Dutch Concrete Association.

Controls Testing Equipment Ltd., is an ISO 9001 company, provides full range of quality products and technical support to its customers. Controls are also accredited to SIT (one of the European equivalents of UKAS), for calibration on compression and flexural machines to all international standard.
