JK Tyre launches MINE Champion for the OTR segment
JK Tyres unveiled the company's new 14.00-25 36PR Mine Champion E4/L4 OTR Tyre during bauma CONEXPO INDIA, which has been specifically developed for the new-age Tipper Trucks and Wheel Loaders in mining applications. The new range of tyres will be targeted for 50 tons class tipper trucks, working in limestone quarries, Lignite & coal mines Said Rajiv Prasad, President - India Operations, JK Tyre & Industries, "As one of the leading tyre manufacturers in India, we have the desired expertise to serve the growing requirements of the Indian mining and infrastructure sectors. We have been developing customised product solutions for industrial applications and the MINE Champion is the latest addition to our highly robust OTR product portfolio. We are confident that the premium quality MINE Champion will be a highly efficient partner in tough mining applications."
Vikram Malhotra, Marketing Director, informed that the highly strong and durable MINE Champion offers best-in-class load carrying capacity and casing strength. It is equipped with a distinct tread pattern, developed using high-end computational simulations, thereby providing excellent traction, flushing and contact pressure distribution. The strong nylon construction provides excellent casing strength and reliability during rigorous applications. The new-age SILICA-based dual tread compound results in excellent cut resistance and cooler running, during hauling operations.
According to Debasis Khuntia, Head - OTR, the new range will be targeted for the 50-tons capacity tipper trucks, working in limestone quarries, lignite and coal mines. "Based on the tyres' rigidity, they will be well suited for both transport machines e.g. tippers and work machines e.g. pay loaders. The tyres are designed for higher load hauling and can be further customized depending on the underfoot conditions at mines or customer specific requirements at mine sites to improve productivity.
JK Tyres has set up a world class R&D center and compound testing facility at Mysore. Said Prasad, "We work closely with customers for developing new solutions that enable ease of maintenance and deliver higher productivity. We are leveraging our R&D capabilities for the right design and selection of the right compounds for higher durability and longevity of our tyres based on per hour usage and the varied terrains in which the mobile off highway equipment work."
The company is also targeting the replacement market and is keen to form direct alliances with OEMs for developing the desired products. JK Tyres currently offers products between 10 to 57 inches rim size tyres for off-highway applications.
