Igm Robotic Welding Systems

igm Robotersysteme AG. is an Austrian based company manufacturing turnkey Robotic Welding Systems for over 30 years. Igm developed the world’s first Robot suitable for Industrial Arc Welding. Thus, straight or circular welding of any desired length could be programmed with only two or three points. With its Arc-controlled seam tracking function it was and still remains years ahead than others in this state-of-the-art technology. The first six axis robot was manufactured in 1983 and it already had many special features including angular extension arm on the first Axis with a 540o work-zone, Hollow shaft for the torch hose package in the Robot’s wrist and an accurate easy to program control system.
By the year 2010 igm robots have increased its flexibility by offering nine axis articulated arm type robots which can be controlled simultaneously with Robot carriage ways and job manipulators having a total of 16+ interpolated axis controls.
Igm presence in India started in the year 1991 through the supply of Dumper truck frame and body Robot Welding System to BEML, which is still operational at BEML Mysore. Igm Robots are being used in India for high speed accurate, high aesthetic welding of components used in Earthmoving, material handling cranes, railways and defence Industries.
Most of the modern igm Robotic System used for Arc Welding in India, are equipped with dual Twin Wire Welding to achieve deposition rates of upto 20kg/hr. Depending upon the applications, these robots are equipped with various sensors like Arc seam sensing, tactile sensing (nozzle/pin), Laser sensor and also with online Laser Camera tracking.

In the earthmoving Industry in India, leading OEM companies manufacturing excavator and backhoe like JCB, L&T Komatsu, Mahindra, Tata-Hitachi etc. are welding critical components like Boom, Arm, Dipper, Centre Frames, Buckets, Chassis Frames etc. Apart from OEMS, many Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers of precision welded components for these industries have benefitted from the extreme flexibility, programming easiness and adaptability offered by igm Robotic Welding Systems which are easily controlled using latest generation K5 Teach pendant with joystick.
Igm offers complete turnkey solutions for Robotic Welding from a single source, thereby taking complete responsibility of achieving the product quality, finishing and productivity. Off-course each of the system has a lot of safety features and provision to adapt customer specific devices so that safety and workflow are not compromised.
With many scores of systems already installed in India, igm system are fully supported through its Indian subsidiary M/s igm Roboticsystems India Pvt. Ltd. having office and support centres in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Jamshedpur and Delhi.
Igm product range is further complemented with offline computer based 3D simulation and programming systems as well as a multi axis Robotic Bevelling system.
