Valvoline Cummins Intends Better Preparedness for Market Expansion
In a bid to further expand and strengthen market presence, lubricants producing major Valvoline Cummins is working towards better business preparedness. This was stated by its Assistant VP, C&I Sales, Mr. Vikas Kapur, Valvoline Cummins India at Excon 2013.According to Mr. Kapur, "Now our intention is to provide end-to-end solutions to our customers. This will primarily involve offering lubricants for all applications and will ensure performance efficiency of the construction equipment by offering products and services backed by necessary technical support."

Mr. Kapur explained, "Equipment are being placed to work in adverse conditions for longer hours with extended oil drain intervals, based on compressed work schedules. In accordance with the engine advancement and emerging requirements, we are in the process of adopting an innovative approach towards formulating newer end-to-end solutions which contribute towards bringing down the total cost of operation of an equipment based on our strong research and development and wide market network. The new offerings include super seal solutions which can plug radiators leakages without stopping the engine, engine flush to ensure clean engines before recharge. We are imparting education and training to operators and owners of the construction and mining equipment regarding appropriate usage of products, safety and product handling practices and preventive maintenance practices.
Valvoline has setup its own fully integrated blending facility backed by research and development wing at Ambernath in Maharashtra at a cost of Rs.150 crores with a blending capacity of 120 million litres per annum. It was inaugurated in May 2013.
Mr. Kapur added, "Further, focussing towards better customer service and interaction Valvoline has established a customer service department which will be serving 100% of customers by March 2014."
Valvoline provides customer support through its oil testing facilities which is known as "Progressive Oil testing Service" (POST). The Company has two laboratories in India, one is located in Mumbai and the other is located in West Bengal to conduct the aforesaid oil testing service. Besides these two laboratories, the company is planning to further enhance its oil testing support by opening a new facility in National Capital Region in near future.
