ExxonMobil solutions for mining, construction equipment & lubrication
ExxonMobil showcased a range of products and services for the mining, construction equipment, and lubrication industries. These included Mobil analysis services, Mobil grease services, and Machine services.
“As a 150-year-old company, we have been at the forefront of technological innovations in both products and services. We have continued to evolve and improve our products, considering emerging applications and the increasingly harsh site conditions across various industries and projects. Our hydraulic oils, such as Mobil DTE 10 Excel™ Series, and engine oils like Mobil Delvac 1™ ESP 5W-40, and the Mobil Delvac range, have been designed to meet the ever-challenging application severity, especially in the mining and construction industry,” informed Vipin Rana, CEO, ExxonMobil Lubricants India.
“Services to customers are provided by experts from our technical engineering division. They engage with customers to understand their needs and help them make informed decisions, and provide customized solutions as per their feedback. We took pride in taking the lab to our customers' premises, providing specialized services typically associated with laboratory settings,” he added.
ExxonMobil invests a lot in research and development for its lubrication business to continuously evolve its product formulations and services that meet the challenges faced by equipment manufacturers and customer application areas.
“Our products are formulated to last longer and bring substantial benefits to users by reducing their machine’s oil consumption, promote sustainability, and enhance safety and security by minimizing man-machine interaction. The specialized formulations of our products contribute to better equipment protection, which improves their productivity.”
“Since 2018, our global blending plants have received silver certification from Underwriters Laboratories for zero waste to landfills. This certification denotes responsible waste management. In packaging lubricants, in 2022, we introduced 50% PCR gains, one of the most challenging applications of PCR. We initiated this effort and have plans to introduce PCR in more of our plants over time. Our advanced recycling facility in the US processes hard-to-recycle plastic and raw materials.”
“Our products are aligned with the needs of the Indian manufacturing industry and machinery usage, which must adhere to world-class maintenance and operation practices. Having worked with OEMs globally for a long period of time, many of whom entered the Indian market, we had already established relationships with them. Since we have provided solutions for lubricating equipment in the harshest of conditions, like that in India (considered among the most challenging by our customers), we were well-placed to fulfil our customers' productivity goals.”
“Earlier this year, we invested more than Rs. 900 crores in our blending plant in India, which is producing 1,000,000 barrels per year. It has helped grow our business by meeting demand for advanced formulations and ensuring timely supply. We have been conducting used oil analysis for a long period of time and have recently introduced models for grease analysis. Drawing samples from customer sites and providing comprehensive reports with a short turnaround time has proven valuable for customers in planning their maintenance and optimizing spending in their facilities. Our machines, essentially taking the lab to the customers' premises, perform filtration, contamination removal, and offer specialized lubrication services, contributing to enhanced performance of their machines.”
“Our research and development facilities in the US continues to develop new formulations, study applications, and address challenges posed by newer applications in all kinds of conditions to meet the evolving requirements of our customers,” informed Rana.
