ExxonMobil™ focuses on high performance products
With rising demand, the off-highway construction equipment market in India is being characterized by volume-based requirements. But, the most interesting trend is the demand for performance-based solutions, especially for capital intensive equipment like tunnel boring machines, higher capacity crawlers and mobile cranes, among others.
Speaking with NBMCW, Mr. Deepankar Banerjee, CEO, ExxonMobil Lubricants India, said, “With construction projects getting increasingly time-bound, we will offer more performance-based solutions for extended oil drain intervals, higher productivity with minimal component breakage, reduced wear and tear and lesser energy consumption. We work in close alliance with OEMs to design custom-made products based on their specific needs and demands. We intend to bring about added benefits of less oil consumption and reduced human intervention, especially for the benefit of big fleet owners.”
He continued, “Based on this market observation, ExxonMobil is offering value-based, high performance solutions such as its DTE 10 Excel™ Series of hydraulic oils that deliver 6-7 percent pumping efficiency and 15% extended oil drain intervals, which ensure higher equipment availability by atleast 6000 hours. Its CI 4 plus engine oils also deliver higher oil drain intervals of approximately 1000 hours.”
Mobil SHC™ Rarus Series is a series of high performance oils designed for air compressors. They are engineered to meet or even exceed demand for applications at extreme temperatures. They have excellent oxidation resistance and thermal stability. Oxidation resistance leads to extended lubricant life and helps minimize varnish and sludge deposits. The SHC series demonstrates lower torque that enable easy start-up at low temperatures. The Mobil SHC™ 600 series of synthetic circulating gear oils deliver extended bearing life that enhance equipment protection at high and low temperatures,” mentioned Mr. Banerjee.
Mr. Shankar Karnik, General Manager Industrial, ExxonMobil Lubricants Private Limited, informed that the company is expanding its distribution network across India. “We provide condition monitoring support to customers through our Mobil ServSM Lubrication Analysis (MSLA). This lubricant analysis program helps to monitor lubricant condition and avoid unscheduled breakdowns and costly repairs to customers,” he informed.
