Cometto launches new modular series MGSL
Following its takeover by the Faymonville Group, Cometto, a specialist in self-propelled, modular and special industrial vehicles, has developed and launched MGSL modular axle lines.
Heaviest loads on modular axle lines – this is the leitmotif when heavy-weight goods have to be moved. For transport of high payloads of 50 t upto 5,000 t, Cometto’s MGSL makes the most challenging job possible. With this modular vehicle type, transport companies can reach the highest flexibility in use for the most different and difficult fields of activity.Highest Bending Moment
MGSL is designed for public roads, off-road transport as well as for inside plant operations. Due to a strengthened loading area, it reaches point loads upto 50,000 kg above the wheel arches and 80,000 kg above cross members for heavy and concentrated loads. Another impressive feature is that the MGSL has the highest bending moment on the market. Each axle line has a technical axle load at 0.5 km/h from 45.000 kg.
Easy handling
The user-friendliness of Cometto MGSL is a huge advantage for daily work. The axle compensation makes an ideal load distribution possible. Best maneuverability is guaranteed by pendulum axles with a stroke of 600 mm and the pivot-mounted bogie with a 60° steering angle. Road inclinations (lengthwise and crosswise) can easily be compensated with the important stroke on the cylinders. Pendulum axles ensure optimum ground contact and equal tyre pressure under the most difficult circumstances, and keep the platform almost in a horizontal level.
The hydraulic forced-steering permits a maximum driving comfort. And the steering is controlled either by a gooseneck or by a drawbar. The freely accessible steering rods give an easy and safe adaptation of steering angles.
100% interoperability

With its many options and accessories, MGSL can be quickly adapted to any specific transport requirements. Dropdecks are also available in various designs and payload classes. Perimeter deck, flatbed deck, excavator deck or a spacer, the customer can choose within a large range of versatile and standardized dropdecks or even go for a tailor-made solution.
Another helpful tool to optimize the use of these MGSL axle lines is the COSMO-software, which is an open tool to survey axle loads and bending moments.
Headquartered in Luxembourg, the Faymonville Group is the world’s leading manufacturer of semi-trailers for the special haulage industry. Its product portfolio includes transport solutions from 15 t upto 15,000 t. It has a production area of more than 150,000 m2 in 5 different factories with a capacity of more than 3,000 units per year.
