Elgi Compressors Power Siemens Gas Turbine

Siemens India has recently commissioned its industrial gas turbine for power generation at Maruti Udyog plant in Gurgaon. With a rated capacity of 12.9 MW, the proven gas turbine will yield increased power and enhanced efficiency together with Elgi’s air compressors.

Air compressor, being an integral part of gas turbine, should provide constant pressure even at partial loads through modulation control. Elgi’s 7 bar air compressors, with a capacity of 267 cfm, guarantees 100% dry air and stable compression and pressure at all levels.

It is the first ever application of Elgi air compressors in industrial gas turbines. Elgi has offered total air solutions including piping for supporting the compressor for continuous and trouble free operation. This joint project with Siemens will provide Elgi a significant foothold in the future as/steam turbine power plants. Siemens is one of the world’s leading suppliers of products for the generation, transmission and distribution of power. Siemens has an installed capacity of 3200 MW in India with over 400 industrial steam /gas turbines.

Elgi compressors have already gained significance in the thermal power segment in India. Some of the key customers are Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation, Neyveli Lignite Corporation, Vijayawada Thermal Power Station and many more.
