AVTEC launches 1200 hp Heavy-Duty transmission for Mining and Oil Field Applications
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Deepak Kumar Hota Chairman & Managing Director of BEML said, “AVTEC has been a partner of BEML for more than 3 decades now. We congratulate AVTEC for launching this new product and wish them success in all their future endeavors. We look forward to have a continued relationship with AVTEC in the years to come”.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Prabhakar Kadapa, CEO & Managing Director AVTEC said, “We are committed to delivering an array of advanced products and setting global benchmarks in reliability and efficiency for the off-highway industry. The introduction of this product will help us tap into the huge potential of the Indian as well as Global mining and oilfield market”.
AVTEC’s new product named AH8700 has been designed and developed at its in-house tech centre at Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The product has been validated in the harshest of Indian conditions and has unique features that ensure reduced cycle time with 7 forward speeds and 1 reverse speed, improved fuel efficiency with lock up clutch arrangement and better gradeability with optimum step ratio for effective torque utilization.
AH8700 provides durable and reliable performance for mining vehicles and Oil Field applications. It is designed and engineered to work relentlessly in the most demanding situations and operate in the toughest terrain with ease. AH8700 is built for heavy duty cycles with minimum maintenance and resulting in faster work cycles and extended service intervals.
Mr. Kadapa further emphasized on catching up with the fast changing market dynamics and bringing in more and more technologically advanced innovative products and importance of digitization in enhancing the overall efficiency and productivity of the system for the off-highway industry. With all OEMs working diligently towards designing and manufacturing vehicles compliant with the latest emission norms, the use of electronically-controlled engines and transmissions is the need of the market. AVTEC also leveraged this platform to showcase its home-grown electronic controls, Hauling Automatic Transmission System (HATS) which not only provides flawless communication between engine and other system but also provides data controlled mechanism, enhanced system efficiency and reliability.
Mr. Kadapa informed, “Now, with increased use of electronic engines, we are working on projects for greater integration of the transmission solutions with the engines, and higher optimization of the equipment.”
He further added, “There is a requirement for higher productivity, backed by higher speed for all range of off highway mobile equipment, more precisely for transit mixers, cranes and loaders. OEMs are looking for higher power to weight ratio for their equipment. AVTEC’s in-house capabilities in designing, product development and engineering, product application and optimization, with best cost manufacturing processes, product testing and validation, enable it to meet market demand most effectively. Our manufacturing capabilities include superior gear manufacturing, heat treatment, control valve and clutch pack testing, NVH testing systems and dynamo meters. With our manufacturing competency we are producing lighter and stronger materials for delivering longer lifecycles.”
With the new launch now, AVTEC’s current line-up of hauling off-highway transmissions include AH8700 for 100T mining dump trucks and oil field application, 5600/6600 Series transmission(550-710 HP) for 60-ton rigid dump trucks, work over rigs, oil simulation services; CL(B) T 754 transmission (445HP) for mine water sprinklers, 35T – 40T rigid dump trucks, work over rig and cycling transmissions like AC 2000 (175HP) power shift transmission for wheel loaders, rough terrain cranes, motor graders; AC 1000 (86HP) power shift transmission for backhoe loaders, self-loading concrete mixers; AC500 (50 HP) power shift transmission for forklifts; TT/TRT 2000 (175 HP) transmission for wheel loaders, aircraft tow tractors, baggage handlers, heavy duty forklifts and railways; CT100 (100 HP) for 5T to 10T forklifts; CRT 5633 (430 HP) for railway applications like OHE Cars, Shunting Loco, Utility vehicles, track maintenance vehicles, bridge inspection vehicles, etc. In addition to the complete transmission aggregates, AVTEC has been supplying the high precision components for the broad array of off-highway applications.
AVTEC’s in-house Tech Centre at Hosur, with a capability to design and development, proto-building, testing, validation and value added application engineering and expertise in handling the complete supply chain, has made AVTEC the only Indian company with the ability to supply full transmission solution to the off-highway market.
