Sandvik CV200-Series VSI Crushers for Mining, Construction & Recycling Industries

CV200-Series VSI Crushers

Sandvik Mining and Construction has recently introduced its latest range of Vertical Shaft Impactors (VSI) that are specifically designed to accommodate the requirements of Sandvik’s customers in the mining, construction and recycling industries.

The new range comprises six models of VSI crushers from the smallest size CV215, handling tonnages from 10 tph, to the largest CV229 crusher, with nominal tonnages of 600 tph. Many world-leading innovative designs have been integrated into the 200 series, further reinforcing Sandvik’s lead in autogenous VSI crusher design.

Environment, Health & Safety in Focus

Sandvik’s crusher development engineers focused on two main areas in direct response to requirements identified in customer feedback. The first was health & safety, an area in which the CV200 series of crushers offer considerable reductions in maintenance downtime, combined with improved safety with respect to working systems.

In the second main area of focus, a significant reduction in power requirements was achieved, thus cutting emissions released into the environment. With today’s ever-increasing energy costs, Sandvik can now offer the lowest power consumption in VSI crushing, achieved through the innovative and revolutionary design of the rotor and crusher feed-control systems.

The other key features include the following:

Patented Integrated Feed Tube Replacement System

Historically, the removal and fitting of the rotor feed tube has been time-consuming and costly, due to requirement of either mobile lifting gear or expensive hydraulic options.

With Sandvik’s integrated feed tube replacement system, the feed tube can now be replaced by one man through the crusher inspection door.

Patented Radial Lock Cavity Ring

While it is not a wear part, this component is vital for the effective operation of the crusher. The new design removes conventional fastener fittings and makes periodic replacement much easier, again reducing maintenance downtime and health and safety risks.

Patented Bi-flow® Acceleration Slides

The patented Bi-Flow acceleration slides are an optional component used to solve the problem of effectively processing sticky, flaky and elongated feed. These ensure that the Bi-Flow system can be operated effectively, ensuring the lowest possible operational costs and greatest throughput.

Unique Key Safety Interlock System

At Sandvik, Health and Safety is an integral component of all design. This is why company supply as standard a timed unique trapped two key system, that ensures maintenance personnel safety combined with electrical isolation. Also supplied and fitted as standard are a vibration detection switch and a pre-start alarm siren.

The result is a range of advanced, reliable, low vibration machines that are unrivalled for their ability to increase productivity while minimizing downtime.

The product shape produced by the CV 200 series is optimal for the manufacture of quality concrete aggregates and manufactured sand (for concrete and asphalt). This feature, combined with world-leading crusher design, further strengthens Sandvik’s position as a market leader.
