Puzzolana introduced its wheel-mounted mobile plant named PSB. Prakash Pai, MD, Puzzolana Group, informed that PSB stands for 'Puzzolana Speed Bharath' since they are 'made in India' and are fast. "We want to bring the name of our country on our products, which will set a new trend in the market, as we want to promote Indian made construction equipment. We are modularizing wheel mounted plants for a certain capacity in a very quick turnaround time as they can be installed quickly, plus their axle load of 10-12 axle per ton is within the permissible transport load limits."
"Our new wheel-mounted mobile plant comes with many benefits like reduced erection time and reduced civil works on the customer's side. We can deliver the plant within 3-4 weeks and it can be commissioned by the customer in less than 7 to 10 days, depending on the condition of the site," added Abhijeet Pai, President, Puzzolana.
Puzzolana, which had launched a hybrid tracked plant two years ago, introduced its new PJS1176, a 250 ton per hour primary jaw crusher, which can take feed up to 650mm. This dual power plug-n-play type can run on in-built 250kva genset or can be switched to grid power within no time, which gives almost 50% savings in the owning and operating cost. Informed Venkat Ramana, Vice President, we are the first to launch VSI on track which can run on dual power, so whatever product comes from cone crusher from 0 - 40 mm can be processed through this plant for shaping to produce different sizes of aggregates like sand, and 10, 20 and 40mm aggregates. The advantage is that we can produce the shaped aggregates from the track plant, which, till now, was used only to produce GSB, WMM applications, which is not a shaped aggregate. In fact, we can deploy all three units to produce shaped aggregates for asphalting or concreting requirements."

Puzzolana's newly introduced sander is also the first in the industry. It is used for producing sand by feeding coarse (5 -40mm) aggregates. "Most of the projects are suffering due to shortage of sand. In a conventional crushing plant, you produce about 30% sand, but by deploying the sander you can produce 60-75% sand, which will meet the requirements for concreting," said Prakash Pai.
Puzzolana has launched the Crawler unit PCI 1313 Horizontal Primary Impactor with Diesel Generator driven for feeds up to 600mm and product (-)60mm for soft ores & GSB production for limestone and soft Basalt.
The company had displayed PCC33150 cone crusher which can be used as secondary crusher, after the jaw crusher to produce the final product of 0 to 40mm up to a capacity of 500TPH in two stage crushing. It has a high reduction ratio of up to 6 times, this minimizes the multiple crushers at such a high capacity.
Also Puzzolana has launched PCC34130 secondary crusher capable of producing (-)40mm up to 350TPH capacity with this single unit one can produce up to 225 tph of (-)22mm aggregate for concrete, which is the need of the hour, else one has to deploy three to four units.
Also showcased was the heavier Jaw Crusher PJC 150128 for Primary plant capacity up to 1000 tph for use in Land filling, Airport, and large Township projects. Puzzolana also launched an improvised version of the fixed shaft cone crusher PFSC 120 for (-)22mm production up to 200TPH.
The heavy duty castings produced at Puzzolana's four foundries in Hyderabad, Dharwad, and Baroda. "The advantage that we have is that we can change the configuration/composition in-house as per the feedback from customers," said Venkat. He informed that the foundries in Dharwad and Baroda make cone mantels, jaw plates, sideliners, and all Manganese steel and Cast steel components for crushers. "We have the best facilities with a lab and a very good spectro which is the heart of the foundry. We have the capacity to produce the best castings of about 2500 tons per month in Dharwad and Hyderabad another 300 tons in Baroda. We also have a very good design team for designing the patterns to give optimum life to the machines and the best combinations," he said.
Abhijeet informed that they have created an independent vertical for aftermarket support for spares, service, AMCs etc. "Product lifecycle support is the most critical for Puzzolana and the service and product support are the reason why we are successful. The cost per ton over 2,3,4 projects cannot be matched by any other company. This is because we are doing our own castings, which is the biggest consumable. We have now made our own motors, gear boxes so that we can customize our consumptions and create the right fitting, motor and gear box for the right application. Right now, most people buy off the rack. We have gone even deeper, in Jaipur we bought a belt company also. We want to control most of the bought-out components such that availability, quality and consistency is intact always. We are also looking for more distributors as our aim is to get within 12 to14-hour radius of each and every customer, whether it is one or 500 crushing plants."

Talking about their strength and plans, he added, "Today, we have 118 machines of different types running on diesel and electric power. We believe that manufacturing of construction equipment will move towards hybrid models, so you could say that, even globally, we are leading the player in diesel and electric mobile crushers. We have more than 4000 crushing plants working worldwide. Last year, we made about 45-50 plants a month."
The company is also aggressive in its export plans and is opening up 20 new countries where it is looking at holistic solutions with the aim of becoming the number one crushing and screening company in the world. "Currently, we are number four globally and number one in Asia. After Africa and the Middle East, we are eyeing the European and US markets where we plan to make a big bang with our diesel / electric machines. Our quality is at par with the major players, especially in the metallurgy and steel parts. Our economies of scale are higher than most companies and the reason why we have been able to sustain a lot of blows. We also invest a lot in our workforce of which 5000 are in crushing alone. Every worker is trained on our crushers as we believe that breakdowns are unacceptable. You could say that we offer a service- and user-friendly product, without compromising on quality, Puzzolana is the approved training partner with IESC for training & certifying operators for crushing plants" added Abhijeet.
