Slipform Paver SP 150: Manoeuvrable, Compact and Flexible Offset Machine

Wirtgen GmbH's motive for introducing this smallest slipform paver model was to open up a new market segment in the class below the well - proven SP 250. The SP 150 focuses on both newcomers to this segment and concrete pros who are interested in acquiring a small machine purely for monolithic offset applications and parapets. For this reason, the SP 150 is characterized by a top price - performance ratio. The design of the SP 150 is based on the proven technology of the SP 250.

Compact dimensions, easy operation and excellent stability

The SP 150 is capable of paving offset on the left or the right side of the machine either inside or outside of the machine dimensions. The slipform paver has a maximum working width of 1.50m and a maximum paving thickness of 90 cm. It is equipped with a 60kW engine.

The driver has a 360 - degree all - round view from the operator's platform, providing him with a free view of the concrete delivery and transfer point and of the paving mould exit at all times. This feature allows the machine operator always to be in control of the machine and the processes. The operating elements are arranged clearly, ergonomically and within easy reach, allowing a very user - friendly operation of the SP 150.

The layout of the SP 150 has been specially optimized for transport. The transport dimensions and weights of the SP 150 adhere to the limits which do not require a special permit. The machine weighs approx. 7,500 kg when equipped with the basic options, and approx. 8,800 kg when equipped with the full range of options. It has a maximum transport width of 2.40m. The mould is positioned inside the machine frame when in transport mode. Assembly times to get the machine ready for operation after transport have been reduced so that the SP 150 can be transported from one job site to the next quickly and with little effort.

Owing to its high manoeuvrability, variable working directions pose no problem at all to this compact machine. The mould can be switched from one side of the machine to the other directly on the job site with little effort. One strong point of the SP 150 with its three crawler tracks is the paving of concrete in tight radii. Bolster beams for the front crawler tracks are available as an equipment option to ensure stability in exceptionally difficult paving situations.

Customized concrete paving kit with numerous options

The SP 150 has been given a flexible design in order to meet the various paving requirements on different job sites. This incorporates the following choices that may be relevant to customers, depending on their particular application requirements. For the concrete paving kit, the customer can choose between a concrete charging conveyor that is part of the standard equipment or an optional feeding auger.

In terms of flexibility, the machine has even more benefits to offer to the customer. The mould suspension can optionally be extended via a hydraulic telescoping device, thus facilitating the positioning of the mould. The position of the rear crawler track can optionally be adjusted to any particular paving situation at the push of a button. The standard equipment of the SP 150 includes hydraulically driven vibrators (five control loops), but the machine can optionally be equipped with electrically driven vibrators with five outlets.
