Its anti-stall device automatically changes the machine’s working speed to accommodate variation in road surface hardness. ”An efficient anti-slab device, high capacity collecting and loading conveyors and high-penetration cutting tools add to the Cat® PM102’s productivity. Caterpillar’s quick release conical tool holders significantly reduce maintenance time. Its well-engineered water spray system effectively wets cutting tools and controls dust within the rotor chamber.

The Cat® PM102 (17,600 kg operating weight, 1000 mm drum width) milling machine offers several advantages. It is available with either track or wheel undercarriage. The Cat® C7 engine (225hp) with ACERTTM Technology meets the latest US Tier 3 and EU Stage IIIA emission regulations. Caterpillar’s hydraulically actuated, electronic unit injection system delivers improved fuel economy, faster hot/ cold start and better high amplitude performance.

Flush cutting operation with hydraulic control allows the Cat® PM102 to be used up close to a curb, wall or guard rail. A drive train protection device protects rotor drive system, rotor & tools by instantly disengaging rotor drive whenever an abrupt drop in rotor rpm occurs due to manhole covers, pipeline, etc. Two cutting speed ensures cutting of different & toughest material with sizing requirement. Grade & Slope sensors provide precise control of rotor to a preset cutting depth and cross slope.

Machine design maximizes visibility on all sides. A large graphic digital display easily visible in direct sunlight provides operating parameters for machine & engine diagnostics.


Computerized monitoring system monitors the hydraulic system and engine condition with multiple modes of operation. It alerts the operator if a problem does occur with three levels of event information. The power assisted engine hood opens wide and provides exceptional access to the engine, hydraulic pumps and daily service points. Hydraulic rotor service door provides convenient access to the rotor for easy cutting tool removal and replacement and water spray nozzles inspection.
