The powerful rear loader, part of market leader Wirtgen’s generation of innovative small milling machines, has a standard working width of 1m and a milling depth of 30 cm and is geared up for applications requiring top performance on larger surfaces.
The W 100 houses a powerful 6-cylinder Deutz turbo diesel engine with an output of 155 kW, which complies with the stringent requirements of the exhaust emission standards stipulated by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA, Tier III) and the EU (Stage III). The standard W 100 is supplied as a 4-wheeled model and features permanent all-wheel drive for optimum, uniform traction. The machine has an operating weight of 14,250 daN (kg). These features make the W 100 ideally suited both for the economical rehabilitation of road pavements and for the removal of entire pavement packages. The W 100 is an ideal completion of the product series concept in the small milling machine range and represents the high-end machine in the 1-m rear loading class. Owing to its extended performance scope, the W 100 supersedes both the W 1000 and the W 1000 L in Wirtgen’s uniquely broad product portfolio comprising as many as 15 cold milling machine models.
Upper Performance Segment in the 1-m Rearloading Class
The newly engineered and highly ergonomical machine concept is based on the tried and tested design of the family of small milling machines and considerably strengthens the performance capability of the 1-m machine. A new concept doubles the filling capacities of the W 100’s tanks to 900 l for the water tank and 450 l for the diesel tank. This enables customers to benefit both by improved efficiency on the job site and less stoppages, because the time required for diesel refueling and water refilling is cut to half.
Robust Toolholder System HT11
At the customer’s request, the milling drum can be supplied with Wirtgen’s original quick-change toolholder system HT11. With this system, the upper part of the tool holder is fastened to the bottom part by means of a retaining bolt, thus making it easy to remove or replace the upper parts directly on the job site in case of damage or wear and tear. High-quality materials are used to optimize the robust HT11 system for wear and tear. HT11 increases the life and economic efficiency of the milling drum.
Flexible Cutter System Greatly Increases Application Range
When customers fit their cold milling machine with FCS Light, the quick change system for milling drums, various milling drums with different tool spacing are available within the machine’s standard working width of 1 m. This feature enables customers to effectively expand the range of applications of their W 100 to, for instance, fine milling or other special applications, allowing them to utilize their machine in the best and most economical way. In addition to the standard milling drum, customers can choose between an FCS fine milling drum with a working width of 1 m and tool spacing of 8 mm and an FCS micro fine milling drum with a working width of 1 m and tool spacing of 6x2 mm. Further special milling drums are available upon request. The drums are exchanged quickly and easily. A drum carriage is available as an option to facilitate milling drum replacement.
LEVEL PRO:Superior Levelling Precision Made by Wirtgen
Precise, safe leveling systems are part of the Windhagen based milling specialist’s core competences. Wirtgen has now developed an own, trend-setting leveling system with software specifically programmed for cold milling machines. The complete system consists of sensors, a controller unit and a control panel for the machine operator. Important parameters, like target and actual milling depth values on the left and right machine sides as well as slope values, are clearly shown on the graphics-capable display of the control panel. Large tactile switches enable the operator to safely key in or correct values. Digital signal processing ensures highly precise milling results on the job site.
