Fayat's road construction equipment of Marini & Dynapac and Secmair
“During our technology sessions we presented the Seismic compaction concept for improved compaction performance as well as PTC vibro-hammers that are finding great use in metro and road projects. Dulevo sweeping solutions also allow us to add complementary products to various construction and maintenance jobs,” informed Abhijit Som, Managing Director, Fayat Road Equipment Division – India.
“The Fayat Group is driving synergies among its companies, making us a one-stop-shop for various solutions. With the launch of our unit - FRED Sales India, we can now offer comprehensive and world-class solutions to customers from various fields of project work. We have a large number of engineers to offer service as well as operation and maintenance support. Excon has created an ideal platform for all our brands to listen to customer needs and develop local solutions in the coming months,” he added.
He informed that India is a major manufacturing hub for the Fayat Group with 4 manufacturing plants that serve India as well as the Middle East and South East Asian markets. Our products are well accepted in international markets due to their world-class design and quality. Our Engineering Centre in Bangalore works with all the Group companies to create Indian competence in developing global solutions that are also cost-effective and efficient for India’s Road Industry, and also market them to neighbouring regions.
To mitigate carbon emissions, the Fayat Road Equipment Division – India has created an electric drive, CNG and other power solutions that are sustainable. “Through our Z Era program, we have launched electric rollers and pavers and are designing products to reduce their energy needs. We are creating solutions that offer efficient power consumption like our multi-fuel burner for use in the Marini batch plants,” informed Abhijit Som.
“These days, buyers are adopting a mixed approach; along with equipment ownership they are looking at rentals and used equipment, based on project requirements, timelines, and budgets. At Fayat, we are working on the concept ‘from rent to sale’ wherein we deliver new technology or solutions for our long-standing customers, which they can opt to rent or purchase. We are working with major rental players to establish an organised rental market, which is the need of the hour in a country like India. We are seeking tie-ups with our dealers as well to start rental stores for small equipment to do small jobs.”
He informed that the company has done good business in FY2024 (so far) due to strong demand. “We are currently running a project to increase production capacity as both domestic and export demand for Indian equipment is strong. This will allow us to increase throughput as well as add new models to our portfolio. We have also invested in a new plant for compact equipment to offer complementary products along with our compaction and paving range. We are in discussions with two more divisions of Fayat Road Equipment division to start local production in 2024. India is also developing as a manufacturing hub of spare parts. We have set up a parts distribution centre to cater to the needs of the markets in this sub-continent.
