Volvo CE's hydraulic breaker range ideal for tough applications
"The HB22 and HB29 are the most popular hydraulic breakers in India and have been widely used together with the EC210D and EC300," said Deepak Sharma, manager, Attachment Business, Region APAC, Volvo Group India Pt Ltd. "Volvo breakers are our customers' top choice when it comes to working in tough applications like stone quarries."
The powerful low-noise hydraulic breaker range is already helping Starex Minerals, a mining company based in Durg, India, to break lime stone slabs and rocks to meet the crusher's capacity.
"We chose Volvo's excavators with hydraulic breakers because they provide the best productivity, quality and fuel economy, along with excellent aftersales services support," said Anil Kumar, managing director at Starex Minerals.
The high-performing HB22 hydraulic breakers are used in conjunction with Volvo excavator models EC210D at 12 sites in Chhattisgarh state. They work between 15 and 17 hours daily, five days a week.
"We've used the Volvo HB22 hydraulic breakers for 1.5 years now and they are still in good condition," Kumar said. "Our operators like the anti-blank fire features, which can prevent operator errors from damaging blank or dry firing."
Anti-Blank Fire systems ensure the breaker will only strike when there is suitable down pressure and prevents the piston from striking the tool whenever the tool is not resting firmly on the surface to be demolished. This system helps reduce downtime and breakers' maintenance needs.
Volvo's hydraulic breaker range is suitable for use with carrier machines from 14 tons to over 75 tons. All are equipped with the standard pyramid moil attachment designed for breaking through asphalt, concrete, and sedimentary rock. Other tools such as moil point, chisel, blunt, compacting plate and spade attachments are also available.
Volvo CE's range of 10 hydraulic breakers, all provide the consistent power, durability and breaking force required for tough applications. The breakers range from the HB75, with an operating weight of 6,923 kg and a length of 4,355 mm, to the HB14, with an operating weight of 1,012 kg and a length of 2,285 mm. Contractors in India can now choose from 10 of these state-of-the-art hydraulic breakers.
