L&T's Mega Mining Wheel Loader
Larsen & Toubro Limited has introduced WA900-3EO Wheel Loader to the Indian mining industry from Komatsu's range of mega Wheel Loaders. This Wheel Loader has an operating weight of 107 Tonne and is equipped with a standard bucket of 13.0 cubic metre capacity. The first ever WA900-3EO Wheel Loader in India has been successfully assembled and delivered by L&T to Tata Steel Limited, Naomundi Mines. This loader integrates Komatsu's advanced technology and manufacturing expertise to give the customers exceptional value and unmatched productivity.
This Wheel Loader is fitted with the high - performance engine SAA12V140E-3 which delivers an output of 638kW (856 HP) @ 2050 RPM by employing electronic heavy-duty common rail fuel injection system and with optimum combustion of fuel. The system also provides fast throttle response to match the machine's powerful tractive effort. The highly fuel efficient, low - noise, high - torque Komatsu engine and the large capacity torque converter with maximum efficiency in the low - speed range will ensure lower fuel consumption. The engine meets the EPA tier-2 emission regulations and is in harmony with the environment.
For Tata Steel, Naomundi, the Wheel Loader has been supplied with a special bucket of 9 cubic metre for iron ore application. The machine is used for iron ore excavation from mine - face and loading to 100 Ton class Komatsu HD785-7 Dump Trucks. Komatsu buckets are manufactured using high - tensile strength steel with replaceable - welded wear plates for extended bucket life. Additional strength is added to the bucket bottom corners, side edges and spill guard ends for increased durability.
WA900-3EO is designed with ample dumping clearance to match dump truck. This machine has the widest tread of 3350 mm in its class and a long 5450 mm wheelbase for maximum machine stability. It has high - tensile Z-bar loader linkage for maximum rigidity and large breakout force required for mining applications. Sealed loader linkage pins help extend greasing intervals. The front and rear frames and the loader linkage have more torsion rigidity to secure resistance against increased stress.
The operator cabin with inbuilt ROPS / FOPS canopy is large and spacious, with comfortable seating and power windows. The wide pillar - less flat glass will ensure excellent front visibility for the operator. The operator seat has a reclining / air - suspension design with headrest to support the operator. High - capacity air-conditioner with low vibration promises more comfort. The steering column can be easily tilt adjusted to the most comfortable position with one lever.
High reliability of the machine is assured due to its sturdy main frame, maintenance - free fully hydraulic disc brakes and Komatsu - designed / manufactured components. The loader has an optional Vehicle Health Monitoring System (VHMS) which enables fleet management through satellite communications and Advanced Joystick Steering System (AJSS).
With the supply of the Komatsu's WA900-3EO Wheel Loader to the Indian market successfully, L&T has demonstrated its strengths in addressing the increased demands of the mining industry for super - large loaders.
