Vertical Pumping, SCHWING-Stetter New World Record
SCHWING again has set standards at the 2010 bauma with a new world record in vertical pumping: 715 m – with an SP 4000, i.e. a stationary medium-size concrete pump that was successfully employed at the Parbati Hydroelectric Project in India. SCHWING-Stetter also impressed visitors at the show with numerous new and further developments in all product areas of ready-mix concrete technology: concrete mixing equipment, truck mixers and concrete pumps as well as placing booms.
The corporate group documents for the first time the environmental and climate protection activities it has been carrying out for decades in some cases. Like the trimodal transportation system – rail, road and inland shipping. The motto Go-green consciously has a challenging undertone intended to motivate people both within and outside the company to get involved. SCHWING GmbH has taken considerable measures to reduce CO2 emissions by 100 tons annually, for instance. In addition, in-house communications are increasingly in paperless form, parts shipment extensively takes place using returnable packaging and also compostable plastic film.
The high-quality machine paints have been completely changed over to a water-soluble base, thus reducing solvent output by 30% while providing increased covering power at the same time.
SCHWING-Stetter is already in the process of implementing these and further measures, others will follow. As is generally known, SCHWING offers exceptionally energy-efficient, i.e. fuel-saving, as well as low-wear machines to other companies. This means the Go-green initiative is also supported and practiced by the customers – combined with the pleasant effect of saving operating costs and expenses due to wear in this way.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Gerhard Schwing, Chairman, SCHWING Stetter Gmbh, said, this year, all our efforts revolve around the theme "Go Green", under which we are implementing various measures to create a more sustainable environment. Towards this, we have also incorporated some unique green features in the products. Our clients look for methods that will enable them to optimize their investments more effectively and our products have been designed, keeping this in mind. We are sure that the products will be received well by our customers."
The new S20 concrete-mounted pump is a high-performance, extremely maneuverable and flexible machine, complementing the City class of its product range. The S 20 with a four-section placing boom and extremely small outrigger spread of only 3.85 m is ideal for operations in narrow streets or next to flowing traffic. Because of its low unfolding height, also only 3.85 m, it is predestined for tunnel construction and indoor building projects.
SCHWING again demonstrated high performance with its new S 43 SX long-boom pump, including a five-section placing boom with Roll-Z folding. The combination of a five-section placing boom with Z-folding, space-saving curved outriggers in connection with a consistently lightweight design makes this machine the new measure of all things in its class.
The new SCHWING stationary SP 2880 concrete pump, was specially designed for large European-type construction sites. Based on the forward-looking design of the modern plastic casing, it is entirely in line with the gogreen initiative since the significant weight savings lead to substantially lower fuel consumption during transport. SCHWING rounds off the green concept in this machine with the SP 2880's noise abatement system. The new control with display, which provides all current operating data like engine speed, hydraulic pressure and stroke, is impressive. The control system can be enhanced with a bluetooth remote control. The modular structure, including a vertically adjustable hitch, permits use of two different axles – a construction site axle and an optional road axle for towing speeds of up to 80 km/h.
In addition to the modern product line of SCHWING separate placing booms, the company now presents the new separate SPB 32 placing boom at the bauma. This flexible four-section placing boom is a genuine wonder in tight spaces due to its Roll and Fold capability. Because of its lightweight design and future-oriented tubular column technology, it can operate on a pedestal without counterweight up to a stand-alone height of 20 meters.
The four product lines of Stetter's truck mixers are available in C or C+ version with rated volumes from 6 to 15 m3. Stetter now extends its TRAILER LINE to include the weight-optimized tractor-trailer unit AM 10 FHAC – LIGHT LINE, which offers an additional load of up to 10 m3 of concrete (at 2,400 kg/m3) in the combination 2-axle truck-tractor and 2-axle semitrailer (permissible total weight 38 t). The truck mixer and tractor-trailer chassis form a compact, maneuverable unit. The low curb weight combined with the use of hardened materials in the mixing drum makes for a high payload and a long service life at the same time. The intelligent SMART-Control truck mixer control system now offers even more operating comfort.
In the now extended SMART-Control the mixing drum speed is intuitively set via a continuously variable adjustment process by means of ergonomic single-lever control. A memory function (start-stop of mixing drum while maintaining the preset drum speed) is integrated into the control lever. In the extended version, too, the drum speed, operating hours, maintenance intervals, etc. are shown in the terminal's two-line display. User-friendly functions, such as an automatic remixing function, query for operating data and personalization of operating data, can be seen on the terminal without additional hardware. In the variant with cab control all mixing drum functions as well as two constant speed drive settings can be controlled from the cab.
Stetter has extended the mobile mixing units that have been successfully marketed for years by adding two model ranges. The top performance segment now includes the M 2,5 mobile unit with a production capacity of 114 m3 of compacted fresh concrete per hour. The already existing M 2,25 has been optimized through diverse modifications and its capacity has been increased from 101 to 108 m3 of compacted fresh concrete per hour. The lower range of the segment has been extended to include the M 1,25. This mobile unit, also equipped with a Stetter DW 1,25 twin-shaft mixer, achieves a capacity of 70 m3 of compacted fresh concrete per hour and meets the requirements for concrete having top mixing quality for medium volume needs.
The modular system of horizontal concrete mixing units was adapted to market requirements and is now also available in the complete model range from HN 1,5 to H 6, with a hot-dip galvanized design. The horizontal mixing units were expanded to include the HN 2,5 (bauma premiere 8) and HN 3,5 models. Both units are equipped with the proven Stetter twin-shaft mixers. The HN 2,5 attains a capacity of 111 m3 and the HN 3,5 132 m3 of compacted fresh concrete per hour.
