India is world’s 2nd largest cement market both in production and consumption. With the high level of activity going on in urban infrastructure development, the sector is on a roll with a growth of 4.5% y-o-y. Ranked number three in the Indian cement industry, Shree Cement Ltd. has been expanding its capacity and is currently building another facility at Saraikela, Jharkhand.
The civil work of this ₹40-crore project is being done by Tarun Construction Company (TCC), and the cement and steel are being supplied by Shree Cement. The facility will be operational by April 2019. Over the last decade, TCC has constructed many cement plants for Shree Cement, namely in Beawar, Aurangabad, Suratgarh, Bulandshahr, and Ras.
In all its projects, TCC has been using BHAI Pumpcrete’s concrete batching plant for high strength concrete mixing. “In fact, we have been using BHAI batching plant since the time we set up our construction business. Their after-sales and service with their first plant met all our expectations, and we continue to trust them as we have had a great experience working with them,” says Ramesh Kumar, Director, Tarun Construction Company.
Now, after two decades and numerous projects under its belt, TCC has become a speciality contractor for cement and power plants. The company has undertaken projects such as the power plant project of JSW Energy at Talengana, the Air Force project in Hyderabad, project of Wonder Cement, and of J K Cement at Chittorgarh.
For the ongoing Saraikela project, the civil work by TCC includes Stacker Reclaimer, Raw mill hopper, Feed hopper, Raw mill Silo, Cement mill hopper and building, Transfer Tower, Bag house, Packing building, Reject building and Central Control room. TCC is using BHAI’s Pumpcrete’s 60 cum/hr inline bin concrete batching plant with 1.25 cum twin shaft mixer, which guarantees an output of 60 cum each hour.
Avers project manager Anwar Ali, “Since the past six years of my working with TCC, I have seen BHAI batching plant at each of our sites and have even moved the batching plants to multiple locations. The present new 60 cum/hr inline bin concrete batching plant with the twin shaft mixer is a marvel. Not only the blade but also the twist angle and deep angle arm participate in the mixing, giving a high strength homogenous mix, and the plants are easy to operate and maintain.”

Narender Garg, Managing Director, Tarun Construction Company, says, “We are getting contracts for numerous projects in the cement and power sector, but we cannot commit to all, considering the time constraint and the profitability of the projects. In the coming year, we will be going to Gujarat, but our association with BHAI Pumpcrete will remain intact, and we will continue to go to them for all our concrete needs, and grow together in the coming years.”
