KYB Conmat's Soil Compactor, Wheel Loader, & 3 new Self-Loading Mixers
KYB Conmat is developing more and more innovative technologies and products. After establishing its brand in the concrete equipment industry, it is now expanding to the Earthmoving equipment industry. The 5 new products launched by the company at Excon ranged from Self-Loading Concrete Mixer (CSLM 2500, CSLM 4200L, CSLM 4300S), Soil Compactor (CCO 1170 S), and Wheel Loader (CWL 9360).
"Our aim is to establish ourselves as a major player with our technology prowess. Our focus on R&D is based on our understanding of the needs of our customers. We aim to serve them with the best products in the market through innovations, improved manufacturing, and cutting-edge technologies to make our manufacturing processes more efficient and sustainable," said Premraj Keshyep, Managing Director, KYB Conmat.
“We have incorporated digital technologies like IoT, Telematics, automation, and data analytics in our machines for enabling real time monitoring, remote operation, and predictive maintenance. Our machines’ energy saving features, optimized design, and advanced control systems help minimize downtime and maximize output. We follow the latest emission norms to make our machine environmentally sustainable.”
Premraj informed that their 3-ton hydrostatic wheel loader has been completely designed, developed, and manufactured in India. Its hydrostatic transmission provides better fuel economy and stepless control. The hydraulic/dynamic braking provides better and safer control of loader movements. Other features include a specially designed Z-bar linkage for easier digging, higher steering angle, higher dumping height, and higher ground clearance. Its hydrostatic transmission will substantially reduce power and fuel consumption, leading to ease of operation with improved manoeuvrability, and enhanced operative comfort.”
The wheel loader is a logical extension of our product line. As one of the largest manufacturers of batching plants, we recognize the need for loaders to efficiently load aggregates into bins for customers who use batching plants. An additional advantage is that it allows us to enter the earthmoving and mining sectors, which were not part of our core business, until now. This expansion will boost our business.
Another product that we have launched is the vibratory compactor in the 11-ton category, as we aim to expand our presence in the road-building sector. Our focus is on covering all aspects of infrastructure, and not limiting ourselves to concrete.
The Soil Compactor CCO 1170 S has a higher steering angle and drum oscillation, which give a shorter turning radius, enabling better manoeuvrability in confined spaces. Other features include dual drum amplitude, ergonomic operator control, higher centrifugal force, rigid chassis design, more aligned lamps for higher illumination for night work, and more accessible service points and engine compartment, enabling easy and fast maintenance.
Premraj said, “We have added three new self-loading mixers to our existing lineup, with a primary focus on reducing fuel consumption to minimize environmental pollution and provide a better return on investment. In this regard, we have introduced a 2.5 cubic meter self-loading mixer, featuring a 49 hp BS-3 engine, and it doesn't require ad blue, the operational cost of the machine is significantly lower than conventional machines. Additionally, it uses a high-flow drum design. The 2.5 cubic meter model offers two key advantages: reduced fuel consumption and a high-flow drum design to handle low slump concrete, ensuring faster discharge.
“Furthermore, we have launched a lighter version of the 4.3 cubic meter model, with a capacity of 4.2 cubic meters and a 74 hp engine; it gives 30% reduction in fuel consumption compared to a 110 hp engine. Despite a minor capacity difference of 2-3%, the significant reduction in fuel consumption leads to faster payback for the owners. The new 4.3 cubic meter model features a special drum design tailored for very low slump concrete, suitable for applications such as roads and canals. This design allows for the use of zero slump concrete in our self-loading mixers, providing a considerable advantage over existing equipment. This feature is particularly useful for canals and village roads, where smaller machines like self-loading mixers can be of big help.”
“We are using IoT in our concrete machines and satellite navigation for improved control over positioning and movement. This same technology is being integrated into our new machines. Our in-house software division has also developed controls and IoT features for these machines. As a reliable product supplier, we are employing the same technology used at the global level, which is at par with industry standards. The engines we use comply with BS 4 standards, and we are in the process of transitioning to BS 5. In terms of vibration, we use similar components such as vibratory eccentric and vibrating shafts. In essence, our technology aligns closely with our competitors, with minimal differences.”
“Our market research focuses on customer expectations and market requirements. We have a customer base of around 12,000 across the globe. While the consumer base may differ to some extent, we benefit from the fact that our existing dealerships already possess similar experience working with comparable equipment. Consequently, we intend to recognize and reward the loyalty of these dealers. Although substantial training will be required, we have plans to upgrade the existing dealerships for this new line of products, enabling one stop solution to our customers. Currently, we have approximately six dealers, and we are in the process of appointing more to expand our network.”
“Most of our existing machines are already operational in remote areas, covering every nook and corner of India. We provide efficient after-sales services through our regional offices, company-owned depots and spare parts warehouse, and channel partners. Our customer care division provides an online helpline centre where our personnel can assess the plant and provide services online. We have around 150 service engineers and will be recruiting more to further strengthen our service capabilities and we plan to expand our service network even further.”
Premraj averred, “We have achieved a CAGR of approximately 15% over the years. With the introduction of our new products and technologies on this wonderful platform (Excon), we anticipate that the coming year will be more successful.”
With over 15 years of experience in the concrete industry, KYB Conmat is one of India's leading manufacturers of concrete equipment, holding the top three position in most segments, including concrete and mobile batching plants, paving machines, transit mixers, and self-loading mixers, and is also growing in the concrete pump segment. Its other products include tower batching plants, canal and road paving machines. Its state-of-the-art manufacturing and R&D facility in Vadodara, Gujarat, has flexible, digital, and modular manufacturing systems that reduce throughput time and overheads.
