Aditya Kale, Founder & CEO, Airattix
Aditya Kale, Founder & CEO, Airattix, aims to bring together storage spaces across India and make them visible and accessible using a single portal.

How are storage spaces across various industries and regions being utilized?
Everybody is looking for storage spaces and parking spaces: people who are renovating their homes, the work-from-home employees, those who want to declutter their living spaces, military personnel on transfers, students, small traders, etc.

Another concern for people in India is a reliable parking space. For example, if someone wants to park his/her car when they are not in town or someone who has an extra car and no parking space at his/her apartment, Airattix provides parking spaces to such individuals in this sharing economic generation. Airattix also provides relevant additional value-added services to its customers like movers and packers, goods insurance, car battery checkup and maintenance, valet parking, and has tied-up with relevant agencies for these services.

How has the Covid'19 pandemic brought about demand in storage spaces?
The storage space industry is on the rise especially in the metros and Tier 1 cities, post the pandemic. With work from home and moving to hometowns having become a trend, people are now looking to keep their belonging in a safe, flexible, and convenient place, and at a lower cost.

Self-storage spaces have seen a rise in demand from working professionals in big cities who have chosen to leave for their hometowns following the lockdown.

For the working professionals, it was easier and cheaper to keep their belongings in a storage rather than giving house rent to landlords when they were leaving the city for a short duration. The exodus of skilled workers and the consequent shift in the work culture from office to hybrid also increased demand for rental storage spaces.

All in all, the pandemic has stimulated the demand for public storage facilities. This can be seen in the substantial increase in the number of transactions on the portal of customers looking for dedicated storage and parking spaces.

Airattix - Everybody needs nore space

What facilities does Airattix provide?
Airattix is a first of its kind in the marketplace; it is connecting storage space owners to customers looking to rent such spaces. We provide end-to-end storage solutions through our portal like movers and packers, goods insurance, etc.

Looking at the increased cost of living in metro cities, people are going for smaller and more compact houses, so they are bound to require extra storage spaces. Likewise, in the overpopulated metros, it is hard to find a decent secured parking spot for car owners.

Airattix provides a platform to resolve these problems faced by the common man in his day-to-day life. The company also creates an opportunity for the hosts to earn extra income from their unused, dormant storage spaces, and their vacant parking spots.

What is Airattix's presence in the Indian market and its future plans?
Airattix, being an asset lite business model, has global scalability and plans to have operations not only in all major cities in India but also across the globe.

We have already catered to more than 1000 customers in a short span of time by offering them a host of services. The company has recently tied up with OYO Hotels & Homes for parking and storage spaces. Multiple other commercial property owners and public storage facility owners like Your Space Doctor (Mumbai), Storemore (Noida), Safe Storage (Bengaluru), Dorabajee and Sons (Pune), and Abhiruchi Mall (Pune) have listed their properties on the company’s portal and are renting them out to prospective customers.

Airattix aims to reinvent the storage space in this sharing economy and has launched a marketplace to bring visibility to the storage and parking facilities and connect facility owners to genuine customers.

Today, we like having storage spaces and parking facility availability at our fingertips, and Airattix helps achieve this. Our aim is to offer the best user experience with ease of booking and options for their geographic storage and parking needs. Currently, we have plans to upgrade our technology and expand operations across the globe.
