Through its unwavering commitment to road safety, eco-conscious practices, and visionary solutions, the Border Roads Organisation is elevating the standard of road infrastructure development in India. In Arunachal Pradesh, its contributions towards road infra development signify progress, innovation, and compassion for the local people.

Border Roads Organization (BRO)

Border Roads Organization (BRO) is committed to transforming the road infrastructure in the state of Arunachal Pradesh by making safer and secure roads for the users. Both the armed forces and the locals, including tourists, are using BRO roads and it is important for the organisation to safeguard the lives of the commuters by providing safe roads and reducing accidents.

The beautiful landscape and terrain of Arunachal Pradesh is both a blessing and a challenge for commuters. Recognizing the need to enhance road safety in the region, BRO carried out a road safety audit of the roads and identified roads for converting them into ‘Zero Fatality Corridors’.

Border Roads Organization (BRO)

BRO has recently achieved an extraordinary feat by establishing ‘Zero Fatality Corridors’ on the Joram-Koloriang Road in the Lower Subansiri District of Arunachal Pradesh. The BRO took several comprehensive measures, including use of innovative technologies and eco-friendly initiatives. The project has earned the organization accolades from the State Government and the esteemed Hon’ble Home Minister of Arunachal Pradesh.

Embracing innovation and sustainability, BRO has set new benchmarks in road construction practices. By utilizing steel slag and recycled plastic waste as construction materials, BRO has not only improved the road’s resilience but also demonstrated its commitment to environmental stewardship. This eco-friendly approach showcases a harmonious blend of modern engineering and ecological responsibility.

Border Roads Organization (BRO)

Road safety is a major focus area of BRO in its vision of Nation Building. By implementing bi-directional road blinkers and solar blinkers, the visibility on roads has been enhanced, reducing the chances of accidents, especially during adverse weather conditions. Intelligently positioned visual message signboards empower drivers with essential information, promoting safer decision-making on the roads.

To curb potential accidents due to driver distractions or drowsiness, rumble strips have been ingeniously integrated into the road design. These rumble strips serve as gentle reminders to motorists, prompting them to stay within their lanes, thereby minimizing the risk of collisions. BRO commitment to employing technology to empower drivers is evident through such thoughtful implementations.

Border Roads Organization (BRO)

The State Government of Arunachal Pradesh has expressed deep appreciation for the BRO’s transformational work, recognizing Project Arunank’s significant contributions to road safety and development. The Hon’ble Home Minister of Arunachal Pradesh has bestowed an appreciation certificate on the team, lauding its dedication and visionary approach to creating safer corridors.

BRO’s success serves as a blueprint for future infrastructure projects across the nation. The journey towards a safer and more comfortable road network requires collective efforts, as well as the pursuit of innovative solutions. With each milestone achieved, the organization reinforces its commitment to prioritize the well-being of commuters and ensure that every journey becomes a joyous and secure experience.
